I would love a silent card....but won't it get a little hot in that cramped case?

Wrong bracket. That's _dual_ slot LP.

No, won't get hot/too hot.

Which one? If the pics of the one you linked are anything to go by then it won't fit. That's not a LP bracket. Hence why it depends whether it comes with one or not.

Ah, thanx.

It seems this one includes a LP Bracket

So which Remote is Best?
Anyone using an Xbox 360 Remote? (as I plan on maybe buying an xbox 360 as well)

I'd actually like a good Remote that doesn't use IR Tech, to avoid Line of Sight issues

just make sure that latest link's heatsink isn't too 'high'.

@Postman that link he posted of a supposed LP bracket; wasn't it right? yeah know it is dual slot but are those attached? (ofc besides the fact that the actual card won't work because of high hs)

Yeah they're attached (dual slot design). One could potentially saw in half.

No, not Laptop Ram, normal desktop RAM. Kingston ValueRam DDR3 is fine.

Im not sure whether i'll be adding an OS to it or running XBMC Live yet.....does that mean I should go for the GT210/220 then?

I wish I could use an ATi though :(

FYI I have setup XMBC Live on a few of these servers. The GT520 works great just double check that its a single slot card that comes with the mini bracket. Remotes work well but those mini keyboards are great. Also theres a XBMCFreak version 2 that works out of the box when it comes to setting up sound/gfx on newer hardware.

Search for the MSi on newegg, last picture shows it having a LP bracket included. I spent hours searching for one, ordered the MSi and just waiting for it to be delivered.

Edit: Also, Silent heatsinks on the nVidia cards won't work, they're too large.. If you need silent, ATi is the only way to go.

Im starting to doubt this now... Isnt the Antec Fusion HTPCs better?
I mean, it looks slicker, has a 350w PSU, an LCD on the front + Remote control, and also LOOKS more like an actual Media Device.

Its definitely better, but the case + psu alone comes in at the price that one of these will come in with a GPU + 2TB hdd included (or close to it)

This server does work. If you go the windows route you're ensured of this :)

Next Q: for use with WUG, I'd need two NICs. Who's got a Low Profile NIC (can be 10/100) that fits with a LP ATI Passive GFX?

Either that or a Wireless N add in, with antenna.

If this can be pulled off, this thing is awesome :)

Most NIC are low profile. And you can make a low profile bracket by smacking some holes into a blank one.
