HP ProLiant MicroServer

About to get server number 3.

What's the story with GT210? Will it play HD or should i just break the bank and get a 610

I bought the N54L (R1199 ex) + POV GT 210 (R350 ex) form Esquire.

The fan-less Asus 210 (R299 ex) from Esquire will not fit according to them.

If you do go with the POV make sure you buy the low profile bracket.

I have the Asus 210 silent and had to bend and break off some of the heat sink fins to make it fit.
You do get the one with the fan though which fits.

Ok. Hard drive time. I assume price is the only consideration for the microserver? I'm thinking of waiting for a special on an external

Ever since updating to frodo, my hpms seems a bit laggy. Anyone else have issues after update?

hope they have upgradable cpu or quad core option? that would be nice..

Hi guys,

Any tips on resolving a noisy power supply on an N40L?

Openelec 304 seems a lot better. Also fewer audio dropouts

What type of noise Mys? Fan squeal, buzzing, etc.... in most cases it'll probably be the fan gummed up with dust - best would be to remove the PSU from the case first -> with the power unplugged try sticking thin screwdriver into one of the fan exhaust holes to stop the fan blades from turning, then give it a good blast of compressed air; not too much though (and make sure there is no moisture in the air supply)

If out of warranty, maybe open the PSU top and without touching anything inside, try blow the dust off the fan from the inside out. I dab of electrical oil on the fan bearing shaft should do the trick to keep it running quietly for a while.
