Has anyone had an issue with Flirc where it works intermittently. eg. it works for the first 5 seconds from plugging it in and then nothing. Then if I try it a few minutes later, it works for another 5 seconds and then stops working. I'm running OpenElec. I havn't had a chance to test it on my laptop but was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this?
Are you sure you have an RC6 receiver? I found my issue was that my receiver was not RC6 compliant. And on Windows, one can use some software to intercept the signals and convert them to whatever you want XBMC to register...
I've mentioned it before but I'm going to say it again, the Flirc and my Harmony 650 is the best thing I ever did for my HTPC.

Something really great about the Flirc is the setup is saved on the device not the PC, meaning if you get a new PC no need to redo everything.
Did you order from those guys...?
I did.
Paid R229 including shipping a couple of months back... Edit: he sent it to the post office though not to door.Shipping cost roughly...?

Not sure now though email the guy ( Andrew) and ask [email protected].
Im not sure. Ive never dealt with these techs. I have a little usb reciever on it that says: IrDA No 42850 www.lindy.com. Thats it. I remember buying it last year when I bought my Pi. Not sure if there is a problem with it. To be honest, it was more the really scary remote config file that I think scared me off. I was like...."I really dont wanna earn a degree in remotes right now". I think I ended up just using the android remote.
This flirc thing looks like it might do the job![]()
you sure its not your screen that is going into standby?
Have you checked BIOS settings
have the same issue but I quite like it when the machine is not used.
Just send a wakeonLAN packet to start it up.
Any chance someone has a dead microserver or fan they are willing to well?
Thanks, sent you a pmGot a dead n36l (mobo gone, psu seems fine), what do you need?
Ok... anyone got any Game Emulators (MAME, NES etc) running on their Microserver? Bonus points if under XBMC? Doulbe bonus points under Openelec?
