Check if your tv supports sound pass through?

No 3.5mm output on your MicroServer? This works:

One might also need something like this from your local china shop, to convert the above 3.5mm port to something a bit more usable on eg. your AV/TV (if you do not have a 3.5mm input already):

No 3.5mm input on your TV? How are you delivering the video to your TV at this stage? Most of the methods that connect a TV to a video source all carry sound. Excl of course DVI/VGA etc. You should at least have some audio input for one of the above ports... what model TV do you have?

WEhat would that be?

Its fairly new LG (bought last year Sep) 32" (LCD)

My LG has sound pass through.
And it is older than yours.
Look for it in your TV menu settings under audio.

It takes the sound from the HDMI and passes it through to the Co-axial (Red and White outputs)... you can then connect one of these to the co-axial...

Can someone confirm whether or not the N54L support 4TB drives? I don't want to spend that much money and then can't use the hdd

I know for a fact that they support 3TB, so I don't see why they shouldn't support 4TB.

Yes, it does support 4Tb. I am using 4 x 4Tb on my N54L. OS is Win 8 x64

Interesting, will check on mine as well (my cheap USB sound card gave up the ghost). Don't see anything on the specs though: http://www.samsung.com/my/support/model/LA32D550K7RXXM-techspecs

rather purchase 2 x 2TB drives to be safe , i read somewhere the MS Home Server has issues with drives bigger than 2TB

No microsoft for me, running debian wheezy

My only problem with 2x2TB drives is it takes up 2 slots :)

I'm looking at purchasing more ram. I know that the 16gb modules are temperamental with speed and manufacturer. However is it safe to assume that any 2 x 4gb modules ddr1333 that are not on the wikia list will work?

Guys can someone confirm if it is possible to put an HP MicroServer running openelec into sleep mode with a remote. Can it also be woken up with the remote. If yes please can you tell me what remote and receiver you are using.

Thanks

I have a USB receiver that has to be hardwired to the motherboard if you wanted the remote to power on.

Bought it from biosonline, but they no longer stock it. No idea where you will find it now.

A model number would be nice?
