HP ProLiant MicroServer

Which remotes are you guys using for this? I have a logitech remote, but no receiver. How do you get a receiver for these units?

I'm currently using the Logitech Harmony 628, but plan on getting the Harmony One..

The Remote Receiver I bought via ebay, HP Wireless MCE USB Infrared Receiver VISTA MCE2005

Hi All,

I want to turn this into a media server by getting the following upgrades:
Patriot 4gb DDR3 1333mhz ram -http://www.takealot.com/electronics/patriot-4gb-ddr3-1333mhz-signature-line-desktop-memory,6688960

GPU - Either Nvidia GT520, ATI 5450, ATI6450
From what i understand the ATI 6450 and Nvidia GT520 supports blu ray 3d decoding. Can anyone confirm if they have done this, and whether the rest of the system becomes a bottleneck or not. I will be using PowerDvd 11 for 3D playback.

Optical: Liteon BD Rom (Only if the system can handle 3D playback).

Please post any advice, specifically regarding:
-Blu ray playback
-3D Blu ray playback (Can this be achieved properly on this spec, no dropped frames, a/v sync issues)
-Does PowerDVD/GPU combo sync fine to LG Cinema 3D tv at 1080p, or do you have to cheat 3D by the PC outputting in SBS etc.

Thanks in advance for any replies

Anyone know where I can get one of those hp or dell infrared receivers locally?

If you are looking for the IR receiver that you can use with a Harmony remote or MCE remote, then the link I posted previously is correct. From what i've seen, you can't buy the receiver by itself. It normally is supplied with a remote.

I ordered a few more HP IR receivers for my brother and some friends.. I should be receiving it within the next two weeks.. If you want I can sell you one for about R180

I use it with my Harmony One Remote, works perfectly..

I am building a HTPC using a HP Microserver. Got 8GM RAM, MSI GT520 graphics card, Samsung Blu Ray writer and 3 x 2TB Seagate HDDs to install in it.

I want to use Openelec and XBMC. Will I be able to run SABnzb and Sickbeard on the same machine with Openelec?

Openelec will work fine with 1GB RAM, 8GB is too much...

I'm not sure about running SAB & s/b on openelec... I use a seperate system with freenas for that...

Also the standard openelec build is 386 so more than 3 gigs is a bit redundant

There is a SABNZBD suite available on Openelec, so it should work fine. I haven't tried it myself though. The suite does also include both Sickbeard and Couchpotato.

Thanks. I will look into this.

I havnt installed the RAM as yet. I have it available so I guess I can now only use the one 4GB stick.;)

Anyone used an antec veris at least as a received on the HPMS yet? I want to be able to turn the tv and server on with a single remote so thinking a veris basic/elite and then a harmony remote.

Have seen reports that the Veris works with Harmony's, but have also seen complaints about lag.
