Is there space for 2 GFX cards in this to run a multiseat linux install or does it only have one slot?

There's a PCI-E 16x slot
and a PCI-E 1x slot
here's a pic of the mb
The port behind the PCI-E 1x slot is a 4x slot for the remote management card

so you could fit 2 cards in... but you'd need to find a 1x graphics card in SA here are some examples from newegg

aaaaa thanks everyoneELS :) jke
Talking to me or someone else? :) Jokes, welcome!

Thanks, I see some people mod the 16x cards to fit a 1x slot or fit a 1x pci riser.

Either way I'm ordering a microserver from digital planet unless someone has a reason not to order from there.

They're fine got my 1st one from them, they run hpshop.co.za as well.

Unless you want the new model(1.5Ghz vs 1.3Ghz 2GB of ram vs 1GB) which is R1646 at serverwarehouse

Right so depending on my selling some old stuff I have lying around I am quite keen to build me one of these.
Here is my checklist and estimated prices:

Microserver - The new 1.5 one - R1700
GTS 520 - R600?
Bluetooth for Keyboard - R250
HDDs will follow
Additional Ram if required - R400

Running Openelec controlled by Iphone / Blutooth keyboard. Pulling media from internals / Other house PC's via cable network.

Anything else I might need?

Pretty much everyone here has the original! :)
What you using it for? Should be fine!

Going to be a HTPC, still figuring out the config. Definitely want XBMC, but I want to run some sort of DNLA server on it as well.

EDIT: Planning on fitting an extra 4Gb of ram and the GT520 as it will be playing 720p content.

Cool, I wonder who will get theirs first

Bloemfontein or Pretoria

The race is on! :p

Gone through the whole threat and sorry if this has been answered:

Can I put SATA 3 (6Gb/s) drives in the HP Microserver?

From my experience:
On mine (with a 520GT), the DVI will be the default. So I ended up using a DVI-to-HDMI converter. Instead of linking the TV to the HDMI on the htpc, I link it to the DVI. Sorted out all my sound problems as well as video problems. The video was sometime blank, if the server booted without the TV being switched on.

Otherwise, you can google a bit. I got the sound working previously, but when I ran into troubles again after upgrading openelec, I decided to just use the converter.

Go to the audio settings, I think you have to set it to HDMI, and there also something other setting..

I'm out atm, I'll check my system when I get home and let you know.

Had the same problem with the 520GT. I found this page after a bit of googling: http://openelec.tv/forum/36-solved-bug-reports/5801-solved-no-sound-over-hdmi-with-geforce-gt-430

It's a little technical, but if you ssh into your XBMC box, and use the "aplay -l" command, it'll give you a list of your sound-capable devices. You'll probably get a few lines that look like:

card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 9: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]

I made a note of the last one, then in XBMC itself, set the audio output to custom, and typed in "plughw:1,9", where the "1" is the number of the card in that line above, and the "9" is the device number.

Works like a dream now. Might be an easier way to do it but if you don't come right, give it a try. Better and cheaper than getting a converter for the HDMI.
