HP ProLiant MicroServer

I experienced the same at first, which is why I decided to go with a fresh ubuntu install, which I can do more in depth video optimization on. I'll try and get my latest image uploaded this evening, which should solve any video playback issues on nvidia cards.

Hi thanks

Where can I get this to image to try.

Are there any post processing video filters in XBMC. If so where can they be enabled, and adjusted.

Hi thanks

My power keeps cutting overnight, so I've not yet managed to upload the latest version - But I'll dig up my old post with the previous install that you can try out in the meanwhile.

It's done :D Drop me a PM if you want a download link and have a 8gb flashdisk that you can spare :)

EDIT:

Scratch that, it feels stable enough to release now :)

1) Download this: http://mediahog.co.za/firmwares/MH_MASTER_0.8.2.7z
2) Extract it with 7-Zip ( Will take about 8gb of space )
3) Download and extract this: http://mediahog.co.za/firmwares/USBIT.7z
4) Run the app included in the second archive, point it at the extracted firmware and tell it to "Restore" to the flashdisk( Has to be 8GB or more, will not work on smaller flashdrives currently ).
5) Put the flashdisk into the microserver's internal port, turn it on and it should boot straight

Should also work on a PC that has an NVIDIA card, I am working on getting ATI drivers working at the moment.

I developed this to work on my N36L microserver, but can confirm that it works 100% on the N40L as well, tested with an NVIDIA GT520 card ( gigabyte )

Please PM me problems, I don't often check this thread :)

Also working on:

-New SuperSport plugin that will initially only be available with this firmware package ( For release when it's 100% stable )
-ATI Compatability
-Auto detection of internal storage ( May or may not work at the moment, ZFS being particularly fun )
-Installing XBMC Eden when released

09 Released: 0.9 Download

You will need to get yourself a receiver, go back a few pages on this thread, there was a discussion about some cheap ones.

Thanks Dr JZ and nadimm. Is there anyway one can search within a specific topic/thread (i.e this one), instead of searching the whole forum?

Just finished setting up a micrserver with 2x2gig ram, msi gt520, running on latest openelec generic build. Hdmi output to plasma screen.

I find that the video playback is not 100% smooth. Not stuttering, but on fast moving scenes there are some "flickering". Dont have it on my ps3 when playing same movies. Any ideas, or is it normal for this setup.

Are there any specific settings in openelec for the gt520 other than the defaults on installation (I see hardware acceleration is enabled by default).

Exellent setup (microserver + openelec) btw, but the jerkyness/flickering will be too annoying to get used to.

Slow to medium panning scenes are not good - lots of "flickering. Read up on it on web a bit. Seams its a common issue accross the board. Apparently the ""adjust refresh rate to match video" and "sync playback to display" (option under video playback) should do the trick, but not working for me...

Anything else I can try. Will try XBMCbuntu, but doubt it will solve issue.

If not, I'll have to move the microserver to backend - to being a server...

I haven't seen any flickering or quality issues... N40L, gt520, openelec 2 beta, 1920x1080 60hz, lg led tv

I'll check it out tonight. If I remember right I did a screen calibration, and then pretty much ran with the defaults...

Hey guys just a quick question with regard to Sickbeard :

I have installed both on my xmbcbuntu box (Sickbeard and sabnzbplus) - sabnzbplus works and I added the APi key and tested it to work in Sickbeard. I have added my episodes and all have been checked and added without any problems. Now I wanted to test with the episode of Game of Thrones (204) which came out in the early hours of the morning. When I checked Sickbeard this morning, I see that it created a backlog for this episode, without anything queued up in SAbnzbd. Any ideas? I feel it's a trivial setting which I am missing somewhere in Sickbeard. Note that I am only using Womble's index as my search provider.

This is likely not the appropriate place for this question.

However, note that episodes will 'appear' in SABnzbd+ once their status (Under Home->Show Name) changes from wanted (i.e. on backlog) to Snatched.

Further, Womble and the indexes that come preconfigured with sickbeard only allow you to download recent (+-7 days old) episodes - any episodes that fall outside of this spectrum require additional (possibly premium) providers to download.

What is the supposed time interval from going from watched > snatched? Doesnt seem that efficient to be honest as I checked at 7am this morning when the episode came out around 3 this morning?

It depends how quickly your NZB indexing service updates themselves. I think SB checks every hour or so...

I am currently using grabit and winrar for my nzb's on my windows laptop but dont want to leave it on so long.
Wanted to do my downloads on my n40l but have ubuntu installed. Any similar programs?
P.s Dont want to automate it with sickbeard and couchpotato, prefer to browse what was recently added to nzbsa/newshost and choose what I want.
