HP ProLiant MicroServer

I had to restart mine. BIOS now only recognises 1GB RAM out of the 3GB I have installed.

Computer->Properties shows system has 3GB installed (1GB Usable).

Any ideas?

One of mine is running 1GB ecc that is came with and a 4GB stick with no problems using Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit.

Sapphire Ultimate HD 6570

I've been scouring the web looking for this card - seems to be the best option for playing 1080p content via HDMI using the microserver. Seems to be out of stock just about everywhere Anyone know where I can get one - or a similar or better card? I know about the AMD Radeon HD 6450 but it just doesn't seem as good...

thanks!

You have checked the maximum power supply requirements for the card. Is it within the specified limits for the MS?

This card draws 55W max for the DDR5 version and 44W max for the DDR3 version. All you can draw from the bus power supply is 20-25W max IIRC.

Dude, you honestly don't need any more than a GT210/HD5450/HD6450 for flawless 1080p playback.

Got my NL40, EFTed monies yesterday, this morning delivered to my work before 11h00. Very impressed!!! (from cybernatic). Thx for this referral guys.

Don't mix the ecc with non-ecc ram.
I'm using the 1GB that came with it + 2GB non-ECC

Is the original ECC?

Mine has run without problems since these first came out. It's just started giving hassles now.

What's strange is that it POSTS 1GB, but Windows sees 3GB, of which only 1GB is usable. Why would it do that??

Orginal is ECC, dont mix ECC and non ECC = 100% RAM:)

The original is ECC mine is showing 4.7 GB in the System info so all seems fine.

Yea - I hear you. A friend introduced me to the setup - he is using the higher powered card and still got some stuttering on 1080 playback when playing a movie with subtitles. But that may be some other issue. He doesn't seem to have a problem with the power consumption and seemed to be aware of the power issues. I'll check with him.

I actually found one from Wootware now so maybe will just go with it

thanks for the response!

And the thought never occurred to you (and your friend) that could be the reason why?

You are trying to suck twice the specified maximum amount of power from the bus and wonder why you still have stuttering, whilst countless others in this thread have perfect playback with lesser cards that conform to the maximum power specification?

Okay...

Anyone running PC speakers with their set ups?

Mine is a Microserver/5450/Samsung Plasma via HDMI set up and I thought I would try out some Logitech Speakers. What is interesting is that there is a split second delay in the sound, if you run the TV speakers and the Logitechs you get an echo effect, TV speakers off and you can see on the lip-sync that there is a delay in the sound. Is there any way around this?

Am subject to correction here but in an earlier build of XBMC there was a lip sync bug and later a patch was released. Offcourse latest builds would have this patch already included.

If it occurs inside windows / latest version of your software then am stumped O_o.
