I will defiantly be going the Logitech Harmony route (unless there are better options) in the next month or two, but for now need something that can get me by until then. I have the Plex iPhone and iPad app but not too keen on using the phone everytime I want to watch something.

I have the Plex iPhone and iPad app but not too keen on using the phone everytime I want to watch something.
It didn't work for me beyond about 1.5m from the receiver, junked the remote and use the receiver with a Harmony 650. This works from 5m away, no problem.
Ordered the remote now. My plans are to just use it for a month or so until I can find a Harmony remote and then will use the receiver with the Harmony. Does the Harmony and receiver work together out the box or is the alot of configuration?

Sybaritic has the Harmony 650 for R463. Is that a good deal?

Is the 650 the one most people prefer or is there another one? Thats quite a good price compared to others I have seen.
Where did you get it for that price? I am not too fussy about the screen to be honest.

Can't find the 600 listed anymore where it's not the same price as the 650. Where did you get yours?
I run OPENELEC/XBMC and haven't touched a config file. On windows you need to install event ghost IIRC, there was a bit of set up but noting too hectic. You just have to learn which functions are mapped to which keys, eg. Back mapped to Exit etc.
OK so I found the screws and the tool in the door :wtf: so I have added the 2x 2TB's HDD's. The one drive is almost full so my plans are to use the one drive just for Movies and the other drive for Series. Once I have copied the content over to there respective drives, is it just a matter of linking each drive in Plex Media Manager? I have had a look and it seems quite straight forward: Just click on "Movies" and select the different folders you want linked to movies? Is that correct?
And with regards to the art work and write up for the movies and series - will the data that was downloaded when I used my WD TV Live media player work or should I rather delete those files and start from scratch (I don't want to have problems down the line so don't mind starting over)?
Please could someone answer this before I start and then find out I am doing everything wrong.

lots of places had it for about 275, loot had it for a short while for 200 but i see its back up to 413
and its no longer listed at sybaritic - where i saw it initially

Plex won't add any artwork to the folders, it has it's own metadata folder where it stores everything, you can leave the artwork like you have it, if it's all named correctly Plex will even use the artwork you already have then the scraping will be super fast.
OK cool thanks. Will try it then with the artwork I already have. Do I need to move the art work into the metadata folder? As it is now, in the different folders where the different media is, you get the movie file, a .metathumb file and a .xml folder (I don't have the movies in individual folders, all the files are under one folder called "Movies" ect) - I hope that makes sense? When going through the files now, I see only some have actual .jpg files for the cover art, but when I use to use the WD TV Live they all definitely had cover art so I am thinking they were or are stored somewhere else? There are also the "backdrop" files that have the artwork that displays as backgrounds when you are on a specific movie file - would these be sued too?
What is the best way for me to sort my files for Plex to be able to work the best? Do they all need to be in individual folders or is it OK the way I have them now all under one folder (obviously I have different folders for "Movies", "New Movies" "Series" ect).

Don't worry about the artwork you already have, Plex will handle everything, I'm not sure about all the movies being in one big folder.

A few months back I had every movie in it's own file but with the WD TV Live media player, it worked better with all the movie files in one folder (the layout was better, when it was in folders, you wouldn't see the poster or movie write up until you went into the folder), so I spent a few nights taking them all out there folders and renaming them correctly - so it seems I mite have to do the opposite all over again...

Have you used this software before? Does it work? I just don't want it to make a bigger mess. But it looks good tho and might be my savior.

Haven't used it myself, make a bunch of randomly named text files in a new folder and use those to test the program with.

That is what I am busy doing now already. I normally search Google for everything to be honest but had no luck last time (or I think it was more afraid of messing everything up but now that I know how much work it takes, it's a whole different story). Going to do some tests now and will get back to you.
On a side note, once everything is in it's folders ect, do I just go to Plex Media Manger and add the folders I want to under each category? I'm pretty sure that's how it is done but just double checking. And also once I have added the folders, does it automatically start scrapping or do I have to start it?
