The National Education, Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu) intensified its picket outside the offices of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Pretoria on Wednesday.

The union accuses the HPCSA of unilaterally implementing a business process engineering (BPR) project that will, essentially, digitise the organisation.

Workers are nervous that the new IT infrastructure could lead to job losses and view the lack of consultation as a sign that management has something to hide.

Charming...
They're nervous because either:
A) They cannot hide their scams anymore
B) They cannot goof off anymore
C) They know they are useless leeches and will be the first to be sent packing

How many jobs can really be lost?

There had to be some sort of digital system...

a few years later, "hpcsa system in shambles, how did we get here."

Or it is a fairly common objection to advancements that change employment requirements and lead to some people losing their jobs. Not unique to South Africa and nothing new.

This is why you do not run a business in South Africa - where your staff decides what you do with your company.
Employees have influence in all civilised countries.

By and large your staff do decide a myriad of little things in terms of what a company does and how it operates....

There is a skill required in getting staff to work efficiently as a team. People management. Clearly management here have no idea what they are doing.
