I've got Vodacom 3G HSDPA 3.6mbit and some people have tried comparing it speedwise to ADSL 4mbit. I'm convinced it's a 1/3 of the speed though - and I'm looking for someone to help me prove it?

It's now 19 April 19:05 and I'm looking for an HTTP site that both you & I can download from now so I can compare. If we do it at the same time, on the same site, people cannot say it's busy when I tested and empty when you tested it.

Any site recommendations that I we can download from now and test speeds? Let me know the sites you feel have the best b/w available (local and/or international)

Thanks

Ok I just got very poor results.

Download Speed: 822 kbps (102.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 249 kbps (31.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Just tested on the Chicago server. Got:

Download Speed: 1264 kbps (158 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 279 kbps (34.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

And even poorer results on my 4Mb line:
Download Speed: 672 kbps (84 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 215 kbps (26.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

I also just did a Washington test and got:

Download Speed: 2057 kbps (257.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 276 kbps (34.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

New York:
Download Speed: 2716 kbps (339.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 117 kbps (14.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload speeds seem just pathetic. I don't see how a 640kpbs gonna make any real difference.
