HSDPA: Vodacom versus MTN

Are the times the tests were conducted available? And also location?
They were conducted during various times - early morning, late morning, afternoon, evening - and at various locations.

MTN did not achieve the same peak speeds as Vodacom even though the company announced the launch of their 3.6 Mbps service a few weeks ago. In recent testing it was not possible to exceed 1.8 Mbps with any download speed tests on the MTN network.

Still no sign of the advertised 3.6Mb/s and absolutely no sign of the advertised 7.2Mb/s.

If multiple MTN users reported >2Mb/s around the country, one could assume there are 3.6 towers but congested by backhaul. But this is not the case, it seems that everyone is still getting <1.8Mb/s which seems to indicate the most, if not all towers are still on 1.8.

Surely,at this point someone should take MTN to task for patently false advertising.
