Hi

I have the desire hd for over a year, and as we all know the battery isn't the best. I've looked at alternatives such as the power skin and extendible batteries. The ones I've seen seem to have bad reviews dont seem to help. Does anyone have any alternatives or suggestions? I would like to have at least 2 days battery life

Never possible, unless you dont use the phone at all. Only then will you be able to get about 2 days battery life. Stick to the current battery, and get the same replacement battery as a back up. Charge both, and when one goes, slot the other one in. Other than that, most smart phones today wont reach 1 day, let alone 2 days on an old HTC Desire HD. Im using the same phone, and i can tell you i charge at most twice a day.

Normal things are always to remove widgets, and those animated wallpaper. Whatever anybody says, rather dont put your display to auto brightness, rather manually set it to your needs. If its on auto brightness, it constantly tries to bring the phone into the correct brightness, using more battery. Switch bluetooth, wifi and other things off when you dont need it. Dont use vibrate as part of a ringtone, and switch to 2g mode when you are not using the internet.
Other than that, its pointless to even look at bigger batteries, as you will just end up doing more harm, as the battery will push through more power than what your phone can handle.

Best thing to do, is to double up on another battery, charge both and that should get you sorted for a bit longer.

Hi

The battery is a voltage source so I doubt over current is a problem. I was wondering if anyone actually tried the power skin or any alternative. I ideally dont want to deactivate all the cool stuff to stretch my battery. Actually I hope there is a working alternative out there... Perhaps too optimistic...

Sadly, most people don't understand electricty.

Why do you need two days though? I have the same phone + a charger at home, in the car and at work:D

Thats exactly the issue, so the days I'm not at my desk or in my car I have an issue....
