HTC Desire HD Discontinued?

I went to Mtn Gateway about to weeks ago coz i really wanted this phone, and alas, there was no stock (i was not suprised). then just the other day, im hearing from some people that that particular phone is discontinued:wtf:

i just wanted to find out if that is true coz then i can stop drooling over that phone and justt move on. it would be kyna weird if that phone is dicontinued though coz it came out just over six months ago.

and btw, mtn took down my details because they said they would order one for me...but no response...at all:twisted:
 
Try at MTN Direct in Pavilion. I had no luck @ Galleria/Gateway when trying to get my iPhone. I had to go to MTN Direct in Pavilion...
 
I hope it hasnt been discontinued, been waiting for 6 days for mine. Ordered through Vodacom and they have not indicated that there is a problem.
 
It would be strange if it was, as I don't think we have an alternative or replacement yet from HTC? I also hope it isn't as my contract is up next month, and I wanted one as well :)

No, in Pretoria. I can only upgrade 6 June, so no rush to find out. Was wondering more whether it'll be an option for me when the time comes around or whether I should start thinking about another phone instead.

I see in another thread the Desire Z has been confirmed as discontinued... Oh well, such is life.

OC, any news on availability of the BB9900 from VC?
 
I asked the local MTN shop here in Hillcrest 2 order me a Desire HD 2 weeks before my contact was up....hoping i would get a call from them when they received my upgrade phone, now 5 weeks later im still waiting.

On the day my contact expired i happened to be around Pav and thought what the hell it was worth a try...25minutes later i walked out with a fat smile and a bright yellow YEBO bag!

Are you happy with it? I am delaying my upgrade as I don't know what to get. Been looking at the Desire HD, though.
 
Got mine on Saturday at VodaWorld - Salesman (really cool guy) said they only had 5 left, and were going to need to order more. This was after I actually got my phone, so doubt it was a sales trick.

Must say, I'm really enjoying it even though I'm probably only using 30% of it's abilities. But you know, I'd rather tootle around in a Ferrari than a Tata so......

Im super stoked with the HD, probably the best thing ive ever owned, and i have alot of gadgets. I pretty much no longer need a notebook anymore.
What has impressed me the most is how easy it is to connect to other devices/file transfers/web-3g and wireless. Some awesome apps out there that make having this phone a versatile tool!
 
One of my mates got his Desire HD on saturday, highly doubt that its discontinued (Picked it up from Canal Walk MTN)
 
HTC Desire HD is being phased out to make way for the new HTC Sensation. Superkeen to get that phone!
