HTC Desire HD feature claims under fire

Oh my god, IIRC the flipping CEO bragged about this feature during the HTC Keynote last year

baaaaaa ;(

Oh well, HTCSense.com isnt the only way to track your phone

What other apps offer the same functionality. Have to admit: This is one of the reasons I got the Desire HD

Just got a news letter from Samsung SA (29.06.2011), advertising the Samsung galaxy s II, is it available yet in SA?

I just installed Lookout anyway, and it is far better than HTC Sense at achieving this functionality.

Err...Mine can do this :/

So does mine - with HTCSense. Strictly speaking as far as I know, you don't need to select the right country to be able to locate your device or use some of the other features available on the site.

But, it would be nice to see SA listed and it not being referred to as "roaming"

Usually when someone complains to the ASA, the person gets slammed on MyBB ...

... let's see now that it's one of own ;)

Personally - I don't give a crap... it was one of the deciding factors when I bought the phone, because I always lost my previous phone, and the ability to wipe, lock or find without installing and relying on some 3rd party application was a big selling point.

ASA was also the only way I could get them to admit that it wasn't working and that my time in attempting to get it sorted since January was just BS. Initially Leaf even insisted to ASASA that it was working - to which I responded I will gladly meet them and ASASA and they can show me how its working, because they kept saying it was a device configuration problem, and that they would get a technician to contact me, which never happened.

Relax X ... I'm kidding!

I know... just getting my say in before the onslaught :p

Funny thing, after Leaf insisted it was working, I got a call from a local woman asking me what the actual problem was - I told her, to which she responded that the features don't work - I then responded with this to both Leaf and ASASA to which Leaf responded that they have no idea why the woman said that - and continued to insist that its working.

However, on Leaf's side they did offer to replace my phone with another of my choice - but that would be pointless - swapping one phone with said features not working for another phone with said features not working.

Boo! Get the pitchforks and torches Dolby... we're going whinger hunting! ;)

As I said, this was not even a concern for me in buying the phone. And the third party app works far better anyway :D

I was using Lookout for anti-spyware anyway. But it also offers an alarm, remote wiping, remote locking and remote locating.

i thought the complaint was about the woman in the pic,she is definately not available in South Africa

This is such a crock of $hit .... we all have our phones but no way to use the feature we all wanted .... how do we
get what we paid for now??? .... what a FAIL
