HTC Desire HD or Galaxy S2 or iPhone 5?

Hey guys, im due for an upgrade. Ive got the iPhone 3G atm.

Im very impressed with the HTC Desire HD but am wondering if i should wait for the dual cores, or iPhone 5?

Thoughts?

Love my DHD, and placed next to an iPhone 3GS it looks awesome ;-)

However I feel the only question to be asked her is: are you a patient person? Because I sure as hell am not! If you can wait you're a stronger person than I :p

You will be waiting a long time for iPhone 5, its will only be released in the US in a few months and then add another 6 months minimum for it to come to SA. Then you have to actually find stock in SA... So I think the real question is not SHOULD you wait but CAN you wait.

The dual-core phones will still take a while to reach South Africa.....if Vodacom & MTN renew their ties with Motorola, we might see the Atrix here in the future, but I'm not getting my hopes up that it will happen soon.

The Desire HD will easily last you two years, even longer, cos you can remove the battery & pop in a new one when the old one is starting to run out of juice.

so you replace the battery daily then? :p

jokes aside, everything Ive read about the HTC Desire HD is good, except the battery

this is the sole reason Im holding off for either the Galaxy S2 for the SE Arc

My battery lasts two days, but I still charge it every night. Habit I got from my iPhone 3G, which also just lasted one day.

Don't you have a wall socket at home to charge your phone with?
 
If you're going contract, wait till 1 April so the CPA applies to your contract
 
Galaxy S2 if you can find stock anywhere, AFAIK it's not available just yet in SA
 
What differences should we see in cell contracts after April 1 though?

I suspect the service cost and goods (hardware) cost will be separated. You sign a 24 month contract and then sign an HP purchase agreement for the phone. Probably means you'll end up paying more for the phone than you would have prior to 1 April, since the network isn't guaranteed to recover it's subsidy of your phone as you could cancel at any time.
