Got a pleasant surprise last night....was using the Route 66 Navigation software and got a message that updated maps are available.

Used my Vodacom night owl data bundle to download the 136MB update for South Africa - and now my Route 66 Nav rocks!!

All the "places nearby" have been updated, it reports the correct petrol stations, banks, restaurants, shopping, etc.

Very very happy with it! Thanks HTC & Route66!

Was preloaded when I got my phone, so I bought the lifetime licence for R200 something. Money well spent.

Preloaded on MTN phones, was some marketing. It was suppose to be on all phones but Vodacom had to make it magically disappear.

Yeah, I got my phone on a MTN contract - and then slipped in a Vodacom simcard right after unboxing the phone.

Been working 150% since December 2010.

My Desire HD had a fatal drop and could not be rescued.

So, it's back on my old iPhone 3G and looking at what's out there....and there is a lot!

I've decided to wait now to :

a) hope the Galaxy S2 pricing come down (just insanely expensive at the mo, but a brilliant phone)
b) see what the iPhone 4S/5 will look like (just curious, and iOS5 promises to finally cut the cord with iTunes - hooray!)
c) the Evo 3D. (Will be investing in a Samsung 3D LED TV soon, so..... and there's a lot of love for the Evo 3D on XDA)

*The Motorola Atrix will also be here soon, so might be interesting to see the pricing.

Have 1.2 gb to use before Sunday midnight(cell c)

Strangely enough I cannot find the icon on my home screen. I access it through the location tab on a contact(s).
