Looks like we finally got the HTC Dream (Google G1). HTC Deals It's even priced below Vodacom's financed iPhone deals :)

Nothing compares to the iPhone, we all curse it because we cannot afford it, or we simply hate Apple. Since the inception of iPhone every Phone company has tried to mimic iPhone. People who do not have iPhone, will install its skins on their boring devices.

By the wayI don't own an iPhone, I simply wish that I did. My phone is Omnia, and its absolutely boring.:(

iPhone is the only phone that retains its value, even after a year's usage. Don't expect the iPhone shape to change anytime sooner, even 10 years from now, they will keep on improving the hardware and making sofware improvements.

Do yourself a favour, buy an iPhone. How many diff models is HTC going to chunk out with Android in the next three years?

True... And besides, that HTC is one DAAAMN ugly looking device!

Using iPhone 3.0 beta - must say - no one can say anything bad about this device no longer!

btw - News24 app is sick! Been using it everyday ever since it was released last week! I see it hits number 1 most downloaded free app on the AppStore..

Guys, I didn't want this to turn into another Apple vs the world threads. I just mentioned the iPhone as similarly-priced competitor. To be completely honest, I don't want either of the two phones mentioned in this thread thus far. I'm perfectly happy with my E51 and will keep on using it until my contract expires in 2011.

Yes news24, I cannot afford the iPhone or the HTC Dream, but that's OK. There are more important things in life than paying approx. R500 per month for any cellular phone. Nowhere in this thread did I mention that I hate Apple or the iPhone, so I don't get where that comment came from.

At least the HTC looks better in black than white. Now *that's* ugly.

Came from my frustrations with Omnia. I simply derailing your post, sorry;)

LOL
The only open source operating smartphone worth developing and theres talk of I-Phone? The simple fact that you can develop any application client you want is the winner for sure.
