HTC One Android smartphone unveiled

Finally front facing speakers....

Could never understand why the older HTC's had a speaker facing backwards, when you look at the screen the sound is projected away from you......

Maybe now one can watch a video without having to hold your cupped hand behind the phone to bounce the sound back.

..

I also like that it has IR. It happened twice now that I took my media player to someone's house only to find out that I forgot the remote at home.

I remember staring at my phone blankly trying to think of a way to use it as a remote (like I am able to do at my home via wifi).

@HTC SA

Are we going to see continued support for os/firmware on this new release? or are we gonna get slammed like
we have with every other HTC flagship phone since leaf was in around!

after all having a flagship phone with an os that's 2 updates behind isnt really worth investing in
again my stock dhd is so far behind even though the hardware can deal with so much more!

THIS.

I have a Desire HD that only got upgraded to ICS and JB because of the mod community.
I'll get a Samsung next.

Also, can you go find the guy at HTC that decided to included a non removable battery and no SD card slot.
Take him out back and shoot him.

+1

We understand that Desire HD users were not happy with getting the upgrade. However Sensation users did get the upgrade to ICS and One X users did get the upgrade to Jelly Bean. So I don't think its fair to say you got slammed on every phone.

Obviously users want the OS upgrade asap, we understand that. Its something HTC is working on. We can only see what happens...

Some comparisons were made between the HTC One and the Xperia Z.

No comparisons and Sony Xperia Tablet Z not phone.
...inaugural TechRadar MWC Awards, there could be only one Best In Show - and our crack team of experts deemed the HTC One the cream of this year's mobile crop.

The One also took the coveted Best Phone award, while the Best Tablet went to the impressive Sony Xperia Tablet Z and the People's Choice award went to Firefox OS.
