HTC One Android smartphone unveiled

iPhone 5 copycat sleezeballz! Ain't gna steal any iOS users :)
 
Looks like the Z10.
I think the new Sony is one of the best looking phones in a while especially with android os. Wonder what the S4 will look like.
 
Stunning, just like the One X before it but as much as I want one I cannot buy one. I have a Desire which is has lasted really well but I cannot buy a battery for it. I contacted HTC SA and they told me to buy it from Expansis... With that and them not being available from CellC I can only deduce that HTC do not care about their clients here. I have since bought 2 Samsung devices. They do not have the perceived quality of the HTC but I can walk in just about anywhere and get spares for it and I am running JB on both of them.
Sad but true.

Guess which company rolled out ICS and Jellybean and who didn't, guess who had a locked bootloader and who didn't? Samsung supported their device, HTC told their customers to jump off a bridge.

Now as a guy who's owned about 4 HTC devices in total, I feel that HTC can go jump off a bridge next time I go shopping I will buy Samsung or the Nexus device or whom ever supports their product and respects their customers. How do you turn loyal customers away? Ask HTC, "quietly" stupid

Just so you know in the US the flagship device HTC One X(dual core version) doesn't have Jellybean. HTC One S yep you guessed it no jellybean. These devices were literally launched the other day and they're flagship devices.

I really like HTC phones. But after having the Desire HD and hoping for ICS after HTC said we will get it, they told us we not. Now stuck on 2.3.7 and wondering if the galaxy note 2 will be a better option than the HTC One/
 
I have an imported One S, which received the OTA 4.1.1 update on the 2nd of Jan. Hope HTC in ZA got this rolled out for local models as well?

Yes, have to agree with this. Samsung seems to be better at firmware updates. I am amazed that the S2 got Jellybean.
 
Really impressed they went with the lower megapixel but bigger pixels approach for the camera.
 
It only uses a 4mp sensor.

The technology behind sounds good, but only a direct comparison would show if indeed this helped.
 
Err, it looks a lot like an iPhone 5? Or am i just being paranoid about them launching another lawsuit?

I don't think so, it looks better than any phone out there at the moment. Good looking device - I hope the get marketing right and break the monotony of Apple & Samsung.

Agree, but you know apple, if it even looks remotely the same, they may pounce.

Only thing going in htc's favour is that as it stands its not really a threat to apple.

No it's pretty much a clone of the iPhone5, you're right. Not only that but they made a few more changes like a single home button with double press to bring up app switching.

Although they all look similar you spectacularly reveal your apple bias, it is pretty much a clone of the BB Z10 in terms of looks, whereas it only shares the general shape of the iphone5. (which is nullified by iOS imo)

Also, I never knew there was more than 1 physical home button on an HTC phone ?

That all said though, I am not too crazy about this new phone, definitely not like I was about the One X and One S.
 
Hopefully the S4 gets announced soon and we can compare the specs. I'm ready for a new phone and it'll either be this of the S4. Reading Vegta's comments about support, I'm already leaning towards the S4.
 
im really looking forward to this phone ... if its here by march i will def be getting this as
the upgrade to my DHD, i keep seeing that the prim cam is 4mp is that right???

Nonsense, it's cribbing heavily from Apple's stylesheet, particularly in the upper and lower bezel and the use of aluminum with chamfered edges. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing but we can't ignore the elephant in the room.
