HTC One X+ unveiled

Took a look at this earlier. Seems to be basically "matching" the S3. I'd buy it over the S3 but my desire and S2 are serving me perfectly fine at the moment. I really prefer Sense and the look of the One X to the S3 (especially in white) but was dissapointed that even with the amazing Tegra3 the S3 still outperformed the OneX, so I guess this is a bit of a catch up device and also because of the issues that they've had with the OneX they bumped the model number a bit of hopefully this is more of a "fixed" version of the phone.

After doing some research I came across a Article in Wikipedia. I know its Wikipedia but hear me out. So according to this there are 3 different types of Tegra 3 processors. Firstly the T30L which you can find in the Nexus 7. Secondly T30 which is the processor that the HTC One X is running. Lastly the new T33 which is in the HTC One X+ which came out in Q2 of 2012. So the One X+ has a new variant of the Tegra 3. I also though it was just the existing Tegra 3 overclock some more.
Now what is the difference between all of it. Easy clock speed and memory type supported. So yes the HTC One X was beaten by the S3 but then the S3 was release later aswell. Though you might think the T30L is the weakest of the bunch there has been reports of someone overclocking this processor to 2 ghz on custom ROM. Now for some credit to the S3. The Exynos processor is able to reach 1.6 ghz which is quite a achievement. Still on looks and hardware I would go for the One X+

P.S I see the One X+ out performed all existing phones on Antutu benchmark tool. I am getting one soon

Personally i see no need to improve the processor, its already fast enough. The only two issues i have with the oneX is the non-removable battery and the inability to add additional storage. Neither of which seem to have been attended to. Still nice to have a bigger battery tho..

i think for most people 64gig is more than plenty ... and with a better battery i dont think most people would care if the battery is removable or not ... (funny how this phone gets slated for no sd card slot or removable battery when the iphone is just the same)

I'm more excited about the possibility of a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini.

It looks like HTC is too lazy to update the One X to JB, so they just release a new phone.

The reason I chose the SIII over the One-X was the exact two reasons you stated.

Same here. Removable storage is a must and having a spare battery in my backpack when I go away for a weekend as well.

We have voiced our opinions on the Apple phones a few times :)

32 GB of storage and it is not enough. Removable battery why? Unless you want to run multiple sets of battteries

ETA?

Is there any info regarding availability of this phone in SA yet?

I would like one too! When is it coming to SA? Searching for it just brings up the one x. Will wait for the one x+. I was disappointed last time when I took the Galaxy SII instead of the HTC phone at the time. So, won't make that mistake again - even if the phone sounds awesome. I just prefer the solid feel of HTC and HTC Sense is amazing!
