Well I can tell you guys for a fact on Wednesday autopage is gonna load a HTC one-x deal on their online shop.

I'll post a link once it's up.

Also once a deal is up there it means 48hours delivery.

Not true. The One X has been loaded on the Autopage website since last Monday, and neither Menlyn or Centurion Mall can give an ETA for stock. No call backs, nothing, nada...... Been bugging them daily and visited both outlets with no luck

They have two sites. A main site and an e-shop. Trust me. I work here :P

Qwiksilvr,

What is behind the total information blackout from Autopage, Vodacom and HTC South Africa regarding the launch date by Autopage (Vodacom) for the One X? Really frustrating for loyal HTC fans who want to upgrade when one keeps getting answers like "no comment, we do not know", etc.

Surely the customer at least deserves an honest answer after more than a decade of loyalty......

Silly question, but you guys obviously think the One X is better than the Galaxy Nexus? And compared to the Galaxy S3? Am due for an upgrade (with Vodacom) myself. Decisions decisions...

"better" is completely subjective.
One could argue for the sgs3 against the one x. Its got a slightly bigger battery and slightly bigger screen.
I preferred the one x simply because i preferred the design, hate touchwiz, and find the pentile display on the sgs3 quite lame. After a couple days with my one x... wouldn't trade it for the world

can someone tell me how you configure whatsapp to have some kind of notifications on the home screen (locked).

From what I cans see there is no way to see you have a message, you HAVE to unlock the phone... crazy...

then, www.sportlemon.tv doesnt work. It should work on android no problem? It works on the Samsung S2 but it just comes up with the page and then "looking for plugin" in both the video windows and the chat window... fail... :(

If you enable notifications in your whatsapp settings there will be an icon on your notification bar in lock screen. Download and/or enable flash in your settings in the browser.

this phone has really emerged as a contender for my next upgrade. it's cheaper than my current contract (on MTN). The Xperia S will only be available next month with MTN, still the Xperia S doesn't seem to compare (bar the camera) - spec wise.
Also not quite favouring the S3 - although spec wise it shud be on par - and is also month(s) away from release.

i've been reading online reviews, and the battery life and grainy video worry me. so for those who have this phone, what can you tell me about these 2 cons?

I haven't noticed any grainy-ness on videos though i must admit i've taken just the few. As for battery life, if your average daily screen on time is more than 3 hours you probably miight wanna look elsewhere. There are people able to push that to 5 hours+ but that's with custom roms and kernals. Depends how willing you are to flash.

+1. This is all I want to know! :)
Many magazines, blogs, tech sites etc compare iphone vs sgs3 vs one x. But the truth is the iphone should not be in this category. Sgs3 and One X are huge smartphones wilth almost unnecessarily high spec. The One S is a brilliant all rounder phone. It's in the iphone category and beats it :) great spec too

Thanks for the reply bud but my +1 wanting to know is if/when we're getting the One S in SA. Done tons of research on it and I've got my heart set on getting one :D

A decent phone, but currently HTC have an exclusivity agreement with T-mobile in the states, so you can only get one from there.. its easy to unlock tho so you could use it here...

So this exclusivity thing is for real! That sucks... I am getting my upgrade next month so purchasing it for cash and importing is out of the question. Maybe I'll just have to get the One X, the only thing that makes me hesitate is the size. I think it'll be a tad big for me.

It actually shouldn't be too bad. I had a look at my friend's OneX. It's very thin so it actually doesn't feel as big and that screen is just amazing. I must admit my hands aren't the biggest but I could still use it fairly comfortably with one hand. If you get an opportunity you should try it out first.

Anyone know if MTN had exclusivity on the OneX or they just had stock before vodacom? And if they do have exclusivity, then for how long? I'm really keen for the OneX but on vodacom.

auto page have told me they will be receiving stock of the One S in the last week of may. This was on FB.

Autopage tells me 7-14 days wait after order placed for the One X.
I ordered mine last week Wednesday, they told me that I should have it this week, phoned again and now they telling me that they do not have stock and can not tell me when they will get this phone, what a huge fail. In the meantime I am paying for my upgrade with out a phone. So much for knowing their back order requirements. "Sorry" phoned Autopage retention's department.

Like I said earlier, I was told that stock is only expected at the end of the month.

I went through this with them with my desire. 6 weeks.
