HTC Sensation XE

Talked to the guys at Leaf Wireless 2 weeks ago and they said the XE had already been released to Vodacom, Talked to them today and the person I spoke to reckons it will only be in January 2012 as there is to much normal Sensation stock still available.

Get a normal Sensation. It's easy enough to mod it to become a Sensation XE unless of course you want the red look. The extra battery would be nice, but even running at 1.56GHz, I'm getting 20 hours with use on the normal Sensation battery. You will pay a lot for a different shell and a slightly bigger battery. The Beats Audio is a software thing. I have it in my current ROM along with the "overclock" to the CPU's normal frequency of 1.5GHz. I can go to 1.86GHz but why, the phone is super snappy even at 1.2GHz. Don't waste your money or time waiting...

I personally think this lack of marketing know how is going to cause Leaf more damage then good as you still have to choose between the Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation, and even I am torn between the two at the moment and am up for an upgrade in a few weeks time. Would of much more preferred it if the Sensation XE was available.

Why not give the Sensation XE on higher priced contracts, and normal Sensation on the lower priced contracts, thus giving the customer the choice.

Is your phone rooted ?

Er, yes the ROM I loaded is rooted. It's not as scary as it sounds. In fact, I'd have it no other way. If you don't root and load a decent Recovery image, how the heck do you properly back up your phone? The Sensation stock ROM is ok but really not great. The custom ROM + kernel I'm running has far better battery life too. Best part is, my phone is not RED :-)

In any case, here is the ROM I'm running: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1259085
