Hi All.

I have tried to get Vodafone live working on my HTC but keep getting a blank page. Some one did mention using Netfront 3.3 but I still get an error :( . Has anyone got Vodafone live working on a HTC or a windows based phone?

Thanks!

Its possible, I have something active on my sim, not sure what it is, but whatever type of phone, branded or not or even WM my default web page is alwsys Vlive.

We're aware of this. (I also use a TyTn!!)

The phone is not currently certified on VLive but we're working on it.

Which functions would you want to use / are the most important to you?

The most important function for me would be the Mobile TV function. I spoke to the guys data help desk and they said the phone was supported and I should go into a Vodashop and have the Vodafone live firmware installed. Is this correct?

yup it was 155 that said so. Just walk into a Vodashop and they will help you is that they said.

Some time back there was a message that said that you could get onto vodafone live (with an I mate KJam) by removing the gateway and using Opera Mini or Netfront.

ah here it is:

It goes like this:
The APN settings provided by Vodacom includes a proxy set to 196.6.128.12
When any user agent connects it identifies itself. If it identifies itself as Opera the proxy works. If it identifies itself as Internet Explorer or Mozilla (Firefox) you get a blank page in return. Ironically Opera gets a blank page, probably because it identifies itself as Internet Explorer by default. I tested this on the pc version. When set to IE or Mozilla through Vodacom proxy, blank page, set to Opera and... bob's your uncle.

To get around this either get Opera to tell us how to identify Opera Mobile as Opera, or simply clear the proxy settings under advanced in your APN settings.

I found the same with Netfront 3.3 on my K-Jam, had to clear the proxy to get past the blank pages. Are still getting blank pages on IE in the K-Jam.

Have reported this to the VAS guys.

The strange thing however is that Opera Mini works. Probably identifies as Opera. I think this is something to do with Vodacom's Proxy, the whole thing works perfectly on MTN's Proxy. DAP also works.

Have tried all types of setting and browsers but it still does not work. With Opera mini it starts loading the page but then it times out so I am not sure if it is really loading the page. Well will have to wait for you guys to give us a solution. ;)

just for interest' sake, check out the tytn thread under MTN for links to the WM6 'crossbow' ROM. cheers.

Update?

Hi All. So is there any update on this issue? I really would like to watch some worldcup rugby on my TyTN...
