HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Just a Q; if you get the JASJAM on contract, isnt it the service provider's duty to help you to sort out your problems?

I would assume the service provider would do first line support but if the unit needed repairs they would call on the distributor.

Not sure about this but really think we need representation from Leaf on this subject. Anyone know anyone there?

Will speak to my Device manager and see if he can get anyone on here.

I atleast hope they will help give you support and repairs.. Come on, why sell a product, and when it comes to that, you have to tell the customer that you cant repair it he/she has to go else where.

Its like buying a car and then a day later something breaks and you go back and they tell you that they dont repair the car, you have to take it to japan or buy a new one.

If that is the case, just more proof that local companys dont value there customers..

Yes I agree but at the end of the day the providers are also near the end of the food chain and that’s why they take so long in testing the devices and making sure all is in place before they offer it to customers. If Leaf is the distributor then I would think they are the only ones that can provide spares. I am talking only from experience in the IT industry and this is the way it works there. Maybe the mobile industry works differently. In this case it would be HTC (manufacturer), i-mate (re brand), SA Distributor (Leaf), Network (MTN), Service Providers & Dealers and then us poor buggers at the bottom.

Hi MTN Data Dude

When is the HTC TyTn likely to be released by MTN. I have been waiting since September when I ordered a JasJam from MTN and they delivered a JasJar Brick. I believe the phone has been in testing stage forever.... I really need the 3G link as my telkom adsl is constantly down in the highveld summer....

THANKS

NICK

Is there a waiting period?

Why wait for a contract?

The Tytn on a contract will probably cost about R800 per month for 24 months. => R 19 200.

It's probably better to purchase this on a credit card budget facility and pay R 800 over 10 months. No contract, no lock-ins. If the cell contract is important, then go for a weekender package at say R135, or cheaper with CellC. Most of you probably already have a contract anyway...

Unless the Credit card is max'd already...

my 2c worth
