HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

the TyTN is NOT worth the money. It's way to "buggy"

@DuCy
Wallace prefers his Nokia 6230i for it not having bugs and its excellent battery life. He dumps on the TyTn when he can because he is actually waiting for a Nokia N95... :D

I prefer my TyTn because it offers me what I want from a phone, has no bugs that affect the way I use it and charges off USB when I need to charge the battery which I have killed using it the way I like it.

DuCy - Shop around. If it has the features you want, buy the phone. You won't be disappointed.

Hi all.

Got my video calling sorted out.

Just because your friend has had his tytn for almost 2 months doesn't mean he has setup his video calling!

Felt like a real tit yesterday when one of the Mtn 1555 guys came out to my house and made a video call from my phone.

Many tx to MTN_DD for arranging everything.

No problem

What were you doing wrong?

@MTN_DD

Can I get the HTC TyTN on MTN MyCall 100 on a new contract form MTNSP and how much will i need to pay upfront for it because at Nashua Mobile on the same package they quoted me for R4580 (incl. sim & activation fee) upfront.

Thank you

Good day,

I've sent this to MTNSP as they'll have to advise on the above

I'll keep you posted

Here is what Nashua Mobile is offering: HTC TyTN for R4560 on MTN MyCall 100 @ R240 PM including R78 insurance.

Can I get a better deal somewhere or is it better to buy it on cash?

I have been wanting to port from Vodacom to MTN and get the TYTN on a My Choice 300 contract (@ 329pm). I have so far received 4 quotes to pay in : R3379; R3379; R4179; R4549. All quotes were from MTN franchise dealers in the Durban area so why is there such a big discrepancy in the prices? Maybe it is just me but to have to pay in this amount on a R329 contract seems a bit steep. Is R3379 a good price MTN Data Dude or do you think I could do better. Thanks.

Whats was Vodas quote like?

Vodacom quoted me R3889 to continue on my weekender + contract @ R135pm which seems more reasonable. They wanted R3149 if I upgraded to a R315 topup. The lame thing about the R315 topup is that if I went over my allocated amount I would have to get a top up voucher. With MTN they would just add it to my account.

Is there actually stock? I want to get one, but the local MTN shop can't even give me a price and Retentions department said their was no stock and would not take my order.

Why can't one order/renew etc on the web anyhow? Holding on 808 is painfull

Isn't there a option on www.mtnsp.co.za that allows you to do that I'll check with MTNSP and let you know otherwise if you want you can PM your details and I can get one of the MTNSP sups to give you a buzz and see if they can arrange something for you?

Let me know

There is an upgrade option on MTNActive, but all it does is say you are eligible to upgrade and asks you to visit a store or call 808.

Maybee there is a hidden option somewhere else

Here is the reply from my Channel Manager of Indirect Sales

Handset cost is around R6500 – R7000 (ex vat) – this is dependant on the exchange rate the handset was landed at, less the subsidy gives a range of R3400 upwards. This is the best that can be done

Why not just upgrade to a ProCall 120 contract?
