HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

I upgraded to radio 1.34 yesterday. I have an impression of improved battery life (probably too soon to say for sure), but has anyone else had worse call holding whilst driving compared to 1.18? This morning on a familiar route I found calls were dropping all the time. Would value any other opinions.

Another question too. I realise about half the emails I receive in outlook over imap have the header info, but are otherwise blank. I assume this is the html email thing. In terms of upgrading, will AKU 3.3 fix this, or does one have to go to WM6?

@ adslsurfer

Radio should improve reception and battery life. I have had zero problems with dropped calls while driveing
AKU 3.3 does not support HTML email. You'll have to migrate to WM6 if you want to read html email on the device.

Differences noted in LSVW ROM from XDA Live

Well, wifi works much better, video call works again because of WM5 dialer and voice record works. Some of the front button actions a screwed up and the WM5 dialer can be a bit painfull, I prefer WM6 smart dialer.

What they say is that the auto setting results in a "U" for UMTS and that voice calls try to then connect via the "3g" connection. Thsi is problematic if you are in an area where the 3G signal is not so great. However, if you want to now surf on 3G, you need to go back and change the setting to auto.....

Any comments...

Yeah, that doesn't sound right to me. Go to settings>phone>band

network type>GSM
GSM / UMTS band > GSM 900 (900+1800) + UMTS(2100)

Then you should be able to connect 3G while on GSM. No need to be WCDMA to utilise 3G.

I don't think. little help?

Checked with leaf again today and they insist that to get better call quality, the band must be set to GSM. However if you are in a 3g area and wish for better internet speed, you need to go back to auto to get 3g.hsdpa!!!!!!!!

From last night my unit seems to go into a hibernate mode that it won't come out of. It doesn't matter how long I press the power button for. WMXL 0.20.0.

I can see the unit is still on as the lights at the top continue to flash. Even when i call my number it won't wake up. Any thoughts.

EDIYT: I noticed I had "turn off if not in use for" set to on. I am pretty sure I've always had this ticked but it previously didn't cause a state i could not recover from.

WM6 has e-mail support, but it also has a lot to do with your mail server or mail service.

Mail via my MSN account and Windows Live looks great, but I have similar problems with mail that is POP'ed to my notebook and then pushed via emoze.

I am seriously considering something like the mail2web service as they offer some of their packages based on Exchange '07 hosting.

Sounds like you have an app that requires network access installed on the mem card.

I had the same problem. Moved all apps that have to interact with the phone function or requires network access to the main memory.

This is a very helpfull app for this issue:

Bandswitch

it loads into the tray, so you can access it quickly from anywhere

MyDraadloos - I don't have a mem card yet. Everything is on the main memory.

Anyone who can direct me where I can get a 2GB microSD card (Joburg)? PDA Zone and PDA Shop have nothing in stock.

Not sure what it has done, but nothing bad has happened. Still stuck with an sms notification on Today screen ....... can't seem to get rid of it and so far not found any worthwhile info.

I
Install and run the program attached called checknotifications. Under options at the bottom, select settings, tick both boxes and ok out. Look for any events named NULL. Tap and hold on those events and delete. Then tap the "clear" button at the top. Should it stop at clearing '29 events of 30' (or something similar) you missed a NULL event, find it and delete it.

havent tried it myself. No luck? Hard reset dude :(
