the wait for sleuth developer ROM has also been a killer, any thoughts from anyone on which one as it seems they will be released at the same time, i am currently using sleuths ROM which is based on LSVW's last ROM and I must say that I am finding it to be very stable and quick.

Oh well I may have to try them both but this has to be it because both of these ROMS will be based on WM6 official release, but for me this is it in terms of flashing my phone because verytime I flash it, it means reinstalling everything and especially getting the dictionarys to relearn sentences, which I think is a major benefit of WM6.
 
So when these people buy new phones and stop making Hermes ROMS.... which rom are we gonna stick with?

And what phones would u buy when you get tired of the TyTN/JasJam?

I'm thinking E90. (been a communicator fan for about 10 years before this phone)
 
I see the Serial ( or should i say USB ) Flashers are still at it ... factory ROM's will always be more stable in the long run ... the Replacement for the TyTN will be released in August ... but i dont see the Dev boys hanging up the TyTN that easily ... :cool:
August/September always has me excited cos the Manufacturers normally use this time to launch new devices ... the HTC Kaiser will be here then, Eten X800 is something i am really looking forward to ... i am expecting i-Mate's new Ultimate range to debut as well amoung others ...
this year sees the new PDA standard ... 256 MB ROM with a 128 MB SDRAM/RAM and VGA displays
3G will be standard across the board ... lets just see what these dudes have done to address the battery life.
mmmmm i havent been checking in wiff the Intel guyz ... they sold off the rights for the old chipsets used in Mobile devices, and have been working on a bad boy processor which runs faster and uses something ridiculous like 50% less battery power ..:)

You guys are making me jealous!! My AC adapter issue of the other night ended up being a digitizer pad problem so my Tytn is in for repairs atm.
Luckily the Leaf product manager assisted with my "unofficial WM6" warranty problem.

Can't wait to get it back!

You are possibly the 1st person to get official help "unofficially" ... let us know what happens :)
 
From what I've seen, the official WM6 ROM is also very quick. I have all the cabs to get it like Satin, so i'll wait for Leaf's release, get all the cabs in, and see how it compares
 
You guys need to install the Black bootloader splash screen from 4win. I am not sure where the URL is, it have it saved on my PC. If u want it, let me know and i'll email it.

If you do search on xdevs you'll find a guide on how to change all your splash screens...
 
Ok - i know i said i'd probably go for the E90 Communicator after the TyTN. But i was working this weekend - and i met an american guy who i was working with - who showed me around on his Apple Iphone!!!!!

O M G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was roaming from the states - on MTN.

looks very very sexy!!

Sexy yes - features No. It does not have 3G. no memory card and the list goes on and on. I also bet it would cost you an arm and a leg!
 
@ Amosphere, was the guys name Johnny by any chance? Some family of mine are here from the States (Johnny & Leslie) and he showed me his Iphone, funny also roaming with MTN. Lovely phone, the whole touch and feel of the OS is great, still waiting for the Kaiser tho to replace my Tytn

No.... Name was Kyle - FOH Engineer for Fallout Boy.... and he said his iphone has 3G... altho - he may have been stupid (he's american)

Hi Guys

I have been wanting to give you guys a lowdon of this ROM sometime ago but I was in PTA for the whole week. I am actrually waiting for my flight back to CT as I post this review.

Ok, I have been using this ROM for quite some time (2 - 3 weeks) I think.

1. Stability - Very stable, hardly no SR's!!!
2. Battery Usage - I am not really sure, but I doi get 2 days with minimal use
3. Call quality - I would say its great, I also use the 1.47 Radio. - No droped calls, etc
4. Java Manager:
- Using Opera Beta - This was the first JM that I found very stable using OMBeta! The Majik JM was offal:(, I couldnt use it at all. But I also found that it keeps on crashing after 5/10min (Im not sure if this has to do with the iphone keypad I installed).
- Opera Mini/ Beta No. Of Characters - (due to lack of a better name) I am referring to the number of charecters that u may use while tyoing on Opera Mini/Beta. With Majik Rom and others, one was limited. But with this ROM, its not limited. So u can actually write a long post using Opera Mini/Beta!!!
- Using wap.defza.com/za - here I am referring to Voda/MTN sms's. For some wird reasons, u may login/enter a recepient #/ but the message box does not open:(. So one cannot compose the text with this ROM as opposed to other ROMS
5. Today Adio Plugin - I have tried to install different versions of the HTC Audio Manager but they are all not working!!! Basically what happens is that, from Today Screen/ when u press the audio plugin it does not open! It gives u an error message!! But if u go via the actual program/programs, etc/ it does show up on the Today Screen BUT u cant choose/rewind/nor forward tracks!!! It keeps on playing the same track!
Now, the worse thing is that WMP also does not (for some wierd reasons) recognise my library!! So, its completely and utterly useless!!!


Not sure if this is comprehensive enough...
I think I will wait for Leaf to release their version OR get the EU version then just install all my cabs and stop this serial flashing!!!
 
What are your top applications you have on your hermes??
