Macs are most definitely more stable ... I have never had to restart my Mac due to a problem ... only problems I've had is when Windows crashes in the Virtual environment :D

Macs have amazing software when it comes to digital editing and the likes ... they are much more robust ito OS (Mac OS is a derivative of linux/unix), so extremely powerful as well.

And don't forget: They look so farking cool on top of it all :p

I was always a PC person.... but couldn't handle things forever freezing etc - i basically bought it cause i wanted something with
- bluetooth
- a camera
- a built in mic
- Wifi
- a 120GB hdd
- Core2Duo 2GHz
- 2GB Ram
- DVD Writer (up to DL)
- a 6pin Firewire connector
- 4 hours battery life after a year
- and something quite small

My Mac has All of the above for just over R14000... And what's more, it runs on UNIX... AND i'm running all my PC stuff i need for work thru parallels.

With bootcamp i can even run all the new games in Windows XP. I can even install Windows Vista (as a dual boot) ... if i WANT to...

I haven't formatted my mac for nearly a year now.... it does have a few issues - but its because i'm installing all sorts of crap and removing it... the usual. With windows i reinstalled it about every 4 months!

Anyway - off topic i guess yeh :)

The saying about a mac is really true: "It just works"

Leaf Wireless website is a mess ... what happened to the Members section?
And half the links and stuff don't work on Firefox ...
They have two FW versions listed for the TyTN:

The problem now with the release of that Pandora Kitchen app, is that everyone is just cooking up their own ROMS. At the end of the day, like u guys mentioned above, isnt't the stability that you out their looking for? I might be wrong, but that's the way i feel like. Schaps and JJ ROMS are the only, IMHO, stable ROMS... Together with dutty's Ultra-Lite ROM.

I'm due for a new machine. Budget is around R15-20 clip. What is recommended? Preferably looking at a laptop. I am clueless about Macs and their prices...

I would definitely look at the 15" Macbook Pro, or a secondhand 17" MacBook Pro *wink wink*

I guess stability is the most important factor.... but this is the cheapest way of getting a new phone every 4 months :)

ITO apple... the only major difference between the Macbook and the Macbook Pro is the graphics card i think. It cost more - but u get what u pay for. Like i said tho - i play the latest PC games on my mac with Bootcamp (Dualboot mode)... If you have never used a mac before - you will learn VERY quickly - i'm of the opinion that if u didn't know a thing about apple or PC, and had the chance to learn either one... you'd learn Apple about 3 times as fast as PC. Stuff is very simple but u can make it as complex as u want :)

And i don't know a mac person who's unhappy with their mac!!

That said - it won't work SO nicely with your WM phone unfortunately - however - i bought "Missing Sync" and it syncs a HUNDRED times better than microsoft's way of doing it!!
 
I am hoping there is a 'Christmas Special' at the Apple shop this December...

Well it's apple's version - but it's not made by apple.... u have to unfortunately buy it - but really worth it!!

I haven't had time yet, but I am sure I will get to it sometime.

Busy flashing the new 1.54.07.00 radio ... it is taking MUCH longer than any of the previous radios
 
Ok, phone bricked with the new 1.54 radio :eek:
stuck on the red, green and blue screen.

I am going into a meeting now ... If any of you guys have some time now, can you please look on xda how to recover from this (the recovery from the "flash console" failed)

Landyman... don't worry

Take out the battery for about 5 seconds
start it again in that green red and blue screen
I used Black Satin - and selected the 2.1 SPL thing and it recovered it

I've "bricked" my phone twice already!!

Wasn't permanent thank god!
 
Nope, tried everything ... for the flashing from PC to work, it must be able to establish a comms connection ... can't do that ... Also tried flashing from the MicroSD, no luck :(

Wait a minute ... SPL 2.1 with Hard SPL seems to have done the trick!

The battle has been won, but the war is not over yet. Now it is stuck on the Black Splash screen :(
