HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

If you order the phone as an upgrade, it seems old SIM card do not work (perhaps MTNDD can clarify), so please remember to order a USIM with it. My sim was damaged so I fortunately did order a new one or I would not have been able to use the phone. There was still a delay waiting for SIM activation, but it was only a few hours.

Good day,

In the newer phones the old SIM's like the 8K and 16K might not work due to incompatibility issues

Hi Guys,

Need to make a decision...is the JasJam an excellent phone?
any negative issues about it?

I just had a problem with the TYTN whereby the phone kept rebooting by itself and freezing up but I think I got a Monday or Friday phone

Stay away from it until the next version of WM that will be out this year. There are plenty on negatives that we have posted already. The bottom line is - if you need a reliable phone, then the TyTN is not what you are looking for. If you want to play with a new toy for a few weeks until you start missing to many calls, then go for it.

How long do you have your TyTN ???

the phone will in fact work but you the device will do wierd things from time to time ... had me going for a long time

Okay, cause I got a M600 and with my 8K no go at all

I'm trying to use my phone as a modem. Do I need to use the dialup networking option in bluetooth and if so what's the username / password / phone number? I tried myMtn and mtnmms/mtnmms without success.

I must be lucky! Great new toy and no crashes, reboots or missed calls...

1 month and still going strong! :D

Only negative (or rather irritation :)) I have is that if you want it to pair with any bluetooth equipment, the phone must be on and not in sleep mode. The rest - pure bliss!

@Neural

I'm glad you happy with it thus far?

could not resist so i bought the JasJam - so far no problems - much more stable than the JasJar
1 question: on the Jamin, when the phone was on EDGE, it showed an E and G for gprs.
the JasJam is showing G for Gprs and Edge and U for 3g...
is that the way it is? I would have liked G E U and H for Hsdpa...

anyone knows more, pls comment

As far as I know there is no H for HSDPA if the area is covered by HSDPA the technology will automatically allocate you onto HSDPA

Remember that HSDPA isn't a network it's a technology
