HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Yes my friend has the right number :D

The status of my MMS remains a mystery to me. I've follwed the instructions in that seting up MMS/GPRS thread. I have previously sent an MMS to someone. But I have asked people to send MMS to me and have tried sending from mtnloaded but no go.

EDIT: It looks like the hard reset and starting from scratch has resolved the MMS issue.

If you followed it to the T you should be fine ... there has to be a small mistake.

Just gone through a successful flash. Should have done the flash first after the hard reset though. No biggies though.

One feature I am missing that I used on my SE P910i.

The ability to restrict incoming calls to a particular category of numbers.
I have a dozen or so contacts in a category from whom I don't mind receiving calls all through the night.
All other categories must be excluded.

At bed time I turn on the restriction and when I wake up I set it back to all categories.

Anyone know if this can be done on the Tytn or if there is after market software to do it?

Secondly, there seems to be now bulk way to move all of my non SIM contacts from my P910i to my Tytn. Only by bluetoothing them 1 by 1????

Anyone have a solution?

Thanks

Joel

Sorry bud i thought you where on the Same page as me .. the procedure was for PIM backup only ... ( calendar, contacts, tasks ... )
your notes, word docs etc should be saved to a memory card ... when installing additional applications it is advisable to install them onto a storage card as well .. So if push comes to shove and you have to reset your device you have access to your PIM info .. and the apps installed can be run staright off the memory card ... all while you are miles away from your PC ..

The procedure was not meant to be a device backup ... remember if you do have a bug or corrupt registry and you do a full device backup ( your device gets cloned with the errors) you will end up back at the place you started .. restoring the initial problem ...

Don't worry - i suspected something like that - but it's all good... i started making backups quite a while ago :) So i gues i didn't lose TOO Many... just for those who want to do it... we assume that you store/install EVERYTHING on your memory card.... this seems to keep your:

Contacts
Calendar
Tasks
Call history

That's about it i think...

I've noticed that since the AKU update it will only connect to my wireless router only if I broadcast the SSID on the router. Anyone with any thoughts on the matter?

Eventualy got my TyTN today after waiting 3 weeks for it. Schweet little device. Spent most of the evening customizing it, but very happy

this issue seems to be specific to this test ROM version. Probably it will be fixed in the official version.

Thanks dot. I guess that's the price one pays for wanting to be cutting edge.

This one might be one of those things I have never noticed before. But I have setup a POP email address to check every 15 min. Now if it downloads a message now it notifies me that there is an email waiting. When it checks again in 15 min, if I still haven't marked that email as read it notifies me again. I'm pretty sure it didn't do this with the old ROM. Can anyone else confirm?

See if this app makes a difference for you. It's supposed to take all the effort out of WiFi connecting, and solve a lot of WiFi problems for the TyTn.

Does anyone have this problem with the Tytn - when i search through my contacts even though i have a persons mobile number in some contacts it shows txt next to the number and even though this is the mobile number when i select the green dial button it does not dial the number because the first option for the phone automatically is to send an sms. In some cases on my phone I am able to dial directly from my list of contacts because I am seeing an m next to the number. My question is how do I change the order in which the numbers are displayed in the contact list on my phone - surely the mobile numebr should be displayed as default because it is a mobile phone and not the txt number.

Hi dotvibe

For the Bluetooth disconnects issue, on the site http://www.jetwaremobile.com/beta.htm

There are 2 cabs files to install of which one is the certificate file (sdkCerts.cab) file

Probably a stupid question but it says:

"You must have the Windows Mobile test code signing certificates installed in your phone's certificate stores (not required for WM2003 PPC phones)" how/where is that??

Do I just move the cab file anywhere on the phone and execute?

Help please!

I havent used the app so i cant comment ... you dont need to shove a CAB in a specific place ... copy it anywhere and execute ...

yes, just copy to your phone and run anywhere.

It is isn't normal behaviour. If Thunderbird (and Outlook) for that matter downloads mail, it tells me I have x new messages. If I do not read those messages, it will not come up with a pop up telling me I have new mail the next time it checks.

I'm pretty sure that before I did the AKU update as long as I dismissed the notification, it would not keep on reminding about an e-mail I hadn't read, but had acknowledged I was aware of. Anyway it could be just failing memory on my part. In any event it is only a minor irritation.

Network Signal Quality

I have been experiencing problems getting a good voice signal and missed and dropped calls.

Called leaf and they said that teh network type must be changed from auto to GSM. Immediately I had a full strenght signal.

What they say is that the auto setting results in a "U" for UMTS and that voice calls try to then connect via the "3g" connection. Thsi is problematic if you are in an area where the 3G signal is not so great. However, if you want to now surf on 3G, you need to go back and change the setting to auto.....

Any comments...
