How can you not love a device like this ... you can pretty much change it at will with the Mobile 6 ROM you pretty much have a new device ... you gotta love it.

How can I get the Aero wallpaper without the XDA Live on the screen...?

Is there an alternative site to download the radio stack? I can't come right on rapidshare... keeps on telling me that I'm already downloading...???

The GPS works and I downloaded active sync 4.5 and all went well there too!

I just need to get rid of that XDA Live on the wallpaper...

PLEASE HELP!!!

1. some sort of registry hack is required to remove the XDA Live from the wallpaper. haven't figured it out yet. if it REALLY bothers you, install the vanilla WM6 ROM. (no Excel, no Word etc.)
2.Rapidshare is reading your IP, and seeing that you have already downloaded something. on your pc go start>run>cmd (type in cmd)
in the dos box type in: ipconfig /renew
this might help if you are on a dynamic ip
try again.
If all fails, restart pc & try again.
 
I realise that they're reading my IP but I didn't download anything at all!!! it's silly...

I know how to add the pictures to the background but what I meant is if some of you know where I can get that specific wallpaper to download without the XDA live text on it...

What is better in the new radio stacks?:confused:

1.27 worked fine.
I installed 1.34, as it is the latest TyTn Radio.
1.35 is a trinity radio, and apparently it works very well.

Forget about enabling GPS on the TyTn, there is no antenna fixed to the GPS module, and installing one will cost you the same as buying a bluetooth module. Rather buy a bluetooth module than risk doing fine soldering straight to your tytn motherboard :sick: :eek: :sick: :sick:
 
OK, registry tweaking 101

How to remove the XDA Live script from the Today screen:

start>programs

Open PHM reg editor
Scroll to \HKLM\Microsoft\Shell\DeviceBeta
Change the Value to anything you want or delete the today string to have no user text display on the today screen.

Power the device down by keeping in the power button.
Power up by pressing the power button again.
 
oh um.... for those who use a MacBook... missing sync does not work...and it seems as if the phone requires activesync 4.5 for this to work...

I'm probably gonna have to downgrade :(

How can upgrade to radio 1.34 with the nb file extracted from the AKU 3.3 exe?

I hate rapidshare. Really doesn't work for me.

OK,

1. @ atmosphere - what version ROM were you previously, do connect via bluetooth or USB?

2. @jhart - click on devicebeta. on the bottom part of the screen a "today" key appears. click on it. now erase the value data and save. power button etc.

3. @swazi - you'd have to use mtty or maupgrade. much easier to get 1.34 or 1.35 from rapidshare. I use firefox 2, NO download manager. I get in a que and then update every few minutes till the dl is ready.

4. @atmos - spb today is the plugin. otherwise use memaid. let me know if you use spb. ;)

And i used Spb Pocket PC Tips & Tricks .... looks quite handy

Am i correct to assume that i can't do the "Rename PIM" thing on a WM6 and make it work with a WM5's PIM??

One more thing!!! - Is it possible to edit the registry to make the backlight of the screen go completely off when not in use...

I don't want to switch the screen off, just make the backlight die completely... It always stays on a bit and I think it chows the battery more than it needs to...

I can swear that I saw a regedit somewhere but I cant find it anymore...

PIM thing should work.

Now, re missingsync:

1. what is the main problem, can't you use the phone as a modem anymore? is it something else?
2. do you connect via bluetooth?
3. Do you have the latest version? (v3.01)
