HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

@dotVIBE!!!

One more thing!!! - Is it possible to edit the registry to make the backlight of the screen go completely off when not in use...

I don't want to switch the screen off, just make the backlight die completely... It always stays on a bit and I think it chows the battery more than it needs to...

I can swear that I saw a regedit somewhere but I cant find it anymore...

Urmmm, you mean other than going to

settings>system>backlight>battery and changing the time before it switches off there?

i have the latest version of Missing Sync

The reason i want to use missing sync is to sync my contacts/calendar stuff back to the phone.... it's kinda naked at the moment.

I've tried now 3 times with my WM5 Pim, by renaming the WM6 Pim. and then soft rebooting with SPB AND Memmaid....

When i click on Contacts it doesn't open.... so i'm thinking there's some form of version issue or something.

I tried both actually... USB and Bluetooth.... same result - it just says that i need activesync 4.5 (On my computer)

I'm just wondering if i can manually install the MissingSync File thing on the phone... that might solve it

By the way... for those who were wondering (and slightly paranoid about warranty stuff)ß...

I installed the new ROM onto my TyTN, didn't work - and i downloaded the old one from LEAF, installed that one (Which took WAAAAY longer to install) and everything was back to how it was when i bought it.

So don't worry about warranty stuff or anything (cept if u cut the USB cable while writing it to the phone ... i'm thinking that might break it a little bit beyond repair!!)

Yes!

My backlight stays on but it's dimmed... Is there something wrong with my phone? Does your backlight switch off completely?

:confused:

@ Jhart

My backlight switches off completely like it always has.

@Jongi

it is that easy yes. You just pair your bluetooth GPS receiver with your TyTn, and load handymap. You then open one of the maps you downloaded and away you go.

erm oops

So this is what happens when you have an interruption with your USB cable and your computer....

Careful guys... i just lost my phone - it won't switch on... nothing - just frozen on the HTC Mobile.htc.com page :(

*sulk*

if that does'nt work, take out the battery,Micor SD and SIM card wait 20 mins. turn on the device while it is plugged into the USB charger (without battery!).

Ok ... the ¨wait¨ begins...

I don't know what went wrong - the USB process was just interrupted :(

*CRY*

Oh well... let's see at 21h30

if none of those work you'll have to try and flash a ROM using mtty.

What kind of battery life do you guys get from the standard battery?

I get about 5-6 hours, but I have everything switched on that eats battery life - Bluetooth, push email etc. What saves me is the USB cable which charges my phone.

I get 18 to 24 hours, I rarely use wifi & bt.

if I cut back on 3G and internet, up to 36 hrs

@dotVIBE - How do you manage that? if I was to keep my phone off, i dont think I would get 18-24 hrs. Is that the difference with WM6?
