HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

I have both Activesync things enabled. On the phone: When cradled, Synchronize all PCs using this connection: USB

and on the PC i even reinstalled Activesync.

As well as tried connecting it to another PC. The PC doesn't even detect the TyTN's USB connection.

*sulk*

I think it's broken

Have you checked your Active sync settings on your desktop ??? " allow USB connections " is it checked ??? ...
What has changed on on your PC since the last time you could Sync ??
i take it the device still charges right ... have you tried using another USB cable ??
Lets here what happens

Everything is checked on activesync.... i even reinstalled it...
At 1st i thought that it's related to the fact that i installed emoze - but i tried 3 different usb cables, on 4 different computers - it simply doesn't pick up that i inserted a USB device.

I did drop it, and it has a small dent in it - but it wasn't anything serious (or i thought it wasn't)

I might have to go to leaf methinks

did the device fall on its head or its ass ( by the USB port )

The problem is that there is no "good" case for the phone, they all suck on some level.

The one supplied with the phone does not offer very much protection. All the scratches on my phone are due to the case coming off my belt. Crap design.

Hope you're phone get's well soon ! :-)

not everyone can be pleased hey ... i think it is cool that they at least give you a pouch for the device ... i dont use a pouch at all ... most of my devices are still in pristine condition ... i have dropped 3 out of the 10 devices i have ... My Qtek 9000 took the biggest fall ... complete casing replacement and LCD, that was heart sore ... specially cos at the time i broke it there where no spares available ...

When is XDA Live 0.30 going to be released - Kyphur is almost 3 weeks overdue with his release.

I ran Black 2.0 and LVSW and it seems to me, that XDA are the most stable roms. What about u guys?

nah, Black 2.0 is far more stable than XDA Live .20.

BTW, there seems to be a proper crystal in the works for the TyTn. You can get one already for Herm100 devices (Jasjam etc), but I'm still waiting for one that fits the TyTn formfactor.

reviews of this case is very positive.

So far my invisible shield does the trick, but it won't help much if I drop it. I also have an armorcase, but the signal degradation just sucks.

Looks promissing, are they planning a TyTN case ?

How is the Invisible Shield ?

Is it good for the minor bumps and scratches?

Are you using their screen protector as well? Some have said that it is "sticky" when using stylus.

apparently they are planning a TyTn Case. we'll just have to wait & see

the invisible shield is pretty good. it's the same stuff they use to coat helicopter blades apparently. mission to get it on, but now my device is safe from scratches. You get the screen protector included free, but I'll stick w. my Martin Fields. I'll probably cut up the I shield protector to cover those bits not covered with the invisble shield, like the silver part on the front.

wel, that's what's cool about the invisible skin, it adds no bulk.

the crystal case adds about 4mm bulk. worth it for protecting my R8k phone, imo.

So what is the weirdest, most useless, just for the fun of it piece of software you have loaded on you're TyTN ?

Most useless piece of software I have on my phone is - Tricorder

Yes ! you guessed correct, it transforms you're TyTN into a Trekkie Tricorder and allows you to do a couple of scans to amaze "dumb" blondes when you are standing at the bar.

Thought about it now and it has to be VIRTUAL GIRL totally useless application but you just got to love that chick that walks across your screen in different outfits ... :)

someone was asking about an alternative sync program?

http://www.sync.com/is_desktop_main.html

haven't tried it, but if you're fed up w. activesync, maybe give it a go.

Intellisync has been around for ages .... it was pretty much designed to support non Microsoft based operating systems ... Push mail was implemented by these guys way before Msoft had it up and running 100% ... these boys put pressure on Msoft cos back in the day with the first WM 2003 devices it was a bit of a mission to get " Push mail " going ... Your server would be configured with a SMS app .. so when you get a new e-mail the server sends a SMS to your device invoking your mail client to " poll " the server ...
Just a bit of useless info ...

So i take you boyz are happy wiff Black edition ... i had a couple of dudes in the office on the XDA live ROM and then changed em over to Black edition ... they moaned and groaned saying XDA Live was more responsive .... I changed em back to XDA live but here is the kicker ... We testing a 3rd party Push mail facility and it seems to be upsetting the device now cos if i disable the push facility the device is fine ... its like i just cant win ... none of the users want to go back to mobile 5.0 cos of the HTML e-mail support ... now life gets difficult .
Running cooked ROM's with 3rd party apps interfacing with a non Microsoft backend ... AnyHO ... I am going to run Black on a couple of handsets and see how it performs now.

well, XDA live is certainly very fast. But unfortunately not very stable. XDA live is based on a beta release of WM6 for hermes, while apparently Black 2.0 is compiled from a much later release.
