My MTN Topup 75 contract is due for an upgrade this month. I'm gonna stick with the Topup contract so that means I'll most likely have to pay in quite a bit for any decent phone.

I'm thinking of getting either the Samsung I600 or HTC Tytn. Their specs are more or less the same and if I did the math right both will be around a R2500 or so pay in (provided I can organize it from MTN).

Which one would you guys suggest? Any other suggestions? I'd like 1.8 Mbps connectivity and a full keyboard would be a huge plus!

You cannot compare an old fone with a new one, the Samsung was released 2006, December and the HTC 2007, July. HTC Tyth II is a much better choice by far. Those two phones are worlds apart. HTC Tyth II is the best around atm for full qwerty.Compare them on gsmarena.

I'd love to get the Tytn II, but it's way beyond my budget at this stage. I know the i600 is pretty dated, but the specs seem similar.

Hello

I chose the i600 (mid last year) and am quite happy - speed, size, weight, battery life, keboard, no moving parts, etc.
