Does anyone know of any contracts that one can get this phone on? None of the SP's websites refelct them and I am in a position to upgrade my contract and (obviously) would like to get this phone.

Thanks for the replies.

JK8, on what basis do you ground that statement? Whilst you may be right, I (we?) need you substantiate it to make an informed decision.

Ok lets start of with, Have you seen one?

I judged the phone on what the Mteor looked like, solid excellent build quality. So I tawt HTC was really on the right track on the design etc.

But then one day I come from lunch to find a opened Tytn on my desk....
I honestly tawt that it was some imported HTC from the late 90s.

Its very bland, looks outdated and feels so cheap, I was shocked!
Its a ugly version of a Kjam.

I dont like the outside one bit, and for a phone at that price, its definatley not worth it, even if it does have a couple of new features, I think build quality is just as important as features.

That's more like it.;)
Given that fact that they are still as rare as hens teeth, I have yet to lay my hands on one. Aside from build quality, what is the rest of the unit like. It got fairly impressive results on GSMArena which most people tend to refer to when looking at the quality of phone.

Its a Kjam with 3G and HSDPA.
They didnt even change the look of the icons, everything is exactly like a Kjam or Jasjar.

I would have tawt of atleast updating the menus, updating shortcuts, basically change the whole user interface to something more modern.
Even the stylus is the same from the Kjam.

But nope, if you a Kjam user ill stick to my Kjam, save some cash to.

The casing finish is quite cool on this device ... the K-jam feels very plastic compared to this unit ... the stylus is not the same .. it looks similar yes but not the same ... The keyboard keys are 10 times better than on the K-Jam.
the processor is twice the size of that in the K-Jam ...
The question is why are you so cheesed off ? is it the price ?

Ok the keys are little better but 10x??? I say 1.5x better.

Anyways your opinion is your opinion ...

JK8, if you got it for free and don't want it...? I'll even chip in for packaging and postage :p

The TyTn and JasJam are about R3900 on Talk 120 - they have stock of the TyTn if you call the Vodacom upgrade center on 082 1959. But no stock of JasJam.

@ The Guy
I have a TyTn on the way but think that it is time to update my SIM card. I currently have a 16K SIM which I have never had need to upgrade. The card to get now is probably a USIM? Any idea of cost and where to upgrade?

Thanks

@JK8

Does the USIM not offer better coverage for data roaming than the 32K card?

Hi All,

How do I get my Tytan to disconnect from the internet after sending/receiving mail? It keeps the 3g connection open indefinitely after sending and receiving and the only way that I disconnect is manually?
