Finally bit the bullet and ordered myself a HTC Vive from cybertrek.co.za
should be here late week.

Looking forward to see what everyone is raving about.
Will keep you all updated.

PS My wife doesn't know yet, lol

What's the advantage of ordering through them. If you buy it directly from HTC (international shipping and import duties excluded) then it's about half the price.

I'm also considering buying one in the next few months but I feel like it might be worth waiting until HTC talks about the next generation.

I would buy one.. if they did say that warranty repairs would be supported by them

Don't think so. Euro 899 at HTC or international online retailers. That equates to R13600 today without any form of shipping or duties. I bought one from Caseking.de a few weeks ago and it cost R14 400 odd landed at an address in Germany. No import duties etc added. So how you will get it for R10 000 from HTC I would love to know? R20k seems spot on with extras.

As stated, hope they will support it as well. It is a risk I took.

799 dollars to rands = 1076.

On that South African website it's almost 20k.

Cool I look forward to hear what you think of it and if you are happy with cybertrek.co.za. If you are then I'm thinking of getting one too.

Keep us updated, saw the oculus rift CV1 there for a decent price, but not sure how legit that site is or if they will deliver, would be nice to get some feedback on that matter after it arrives.

No way I can afford it atm, but for future reference it would be nice.
I'll have to settle for my DK2.

I just want to know if VR porn is cool or weird
I've heard someone say it's very weird looking straight into the face of someone getting ****ed. Their eyes are dead as they obviously don't register your presence...they're just staring straight ahead.

so like being married......

Necro thread.

Also looking for the Vive, the system goes for $499.00 on amazon, no shipping to SA.

Got a quote from Scottshipping for 10.2k all incl.

Good deal or not?

I have one I can sell you for 7k.. Bought the Oculus and Vive, but since I moved don't have the space for the 'standing up' experience the Vive brings. Hardly used, got it in the original box for safety of shipment etc.. send me a text on 0837962523, based in Durban.
(Actually made this account to sell the Vive, didn't have any takers on gumtree... thought that mybroadband would be a better suitable audience, but can't post in the for sale section)
