HTC Vox S710 your experience

Had mine for a couple of months. No complaints as yet. Seems quick enough, though sometimes you need patience with making calls etc, waiting for mobile 6 catches up with what you want to do.
I like the fact I can install programs on it such as a customised home screen , leaf locate, Gmail (Java), ewallet, and customised keylocking software.

That said I bought a 2gig micro SD to store the extra apps and everything else. Looking fwd to seeing how this phone goes for the next 2 years!

Edit: I forgot to mention that what is really annoying is no head phone jack. You have to use the supplied headphones in some funny mini usb port, and the headphones you get are not so good?

Do you not find the delay when sliding the keyboard out and switching to landscape really off-putting? Or do you not use that feature a lot for smsing or sending mails?

I had the phone for all of 1 month (it's sitting in the box now, to lazy to try sell it), got really annoyed with how slow the phone was. Very annoying switching to or from landscape, the delay is way to long imho. Even things like browsing through the menu was sluggish. Oh, and the rubber coverings over the ports never last, have seen a few that won't stay in. My battery cover also kept coming off, didn't clip on so nicely after only a month. Just my opinion but I'd recommend looking at something else, I have the SE W890 now and absolutely love this phone, solid, good battery, does what I need it to.

Ya, that is why I did not get it. Went with the K810 instead. Much better phone :)

Why don't you just wait for the S730. It is apparently faster and has 3G/HSDPA

I know what you mean, but I just wait it out, takes all of 3 seconds to switch (timed it :D)
 
Nashua has the S730 on a procall 120. The S710 is soooo slow. Rather wait for the new S730 to be available everywhere
 
btw I got my HTC S710 today and I love it. does not take 3 secs to flip from hor to ver just 1 sec at least.
goto task manager and close unnecessary apps you might have forgot to close after using it;)

It also helps to disable the sliding sound.

Really? Just one second? If that is the case I would get it for sure...

I have heard a lot of people complain that it is sluggish which is not gonna work for me at all...

the S710 has a 200mhz processor but the newer S730 has a 400mhz one
wait for that one to come out in the next couple of months also has 2x the memory

Gonna be costly though and I REALLY don't like the llok nor size of the S730 :(

How is your S710 treating you? Still liking it? Still fast?
