Hi everyone

I need to setup a (non self signed) ssl setup for a web site but I am kinda clueless in this regard. Can I generate the certificate myself and then send it off to have it signed or should I let the CA generate a certificate and digitally sign it etc?

Who is best to use for this?

I have done it before but in like a lab environment where it was for my own use so I signed it myself etc.

EDIT : This will be on CentOS and apache

Your help is much appreciated.

If it's IIS you can just use the Console to generate the CSR (Certificate Signing Request) and mail it to whomever is going to create the cert for you.

If you're using Apache+Linux check my post out here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...r-sites-through-SSL-and-Apache-for-free-Linux
