I'm busy building a HTPC (using the HP Proliant Microserver as a base) and stupidly against all advice ordered myself a Sapphire HD6450 512mb DDR5 for the simple reason it was the cheapest actively cooled 6450 I could find (I don't trust passive heatsinks in a small enclosure, especially in summer)
I'm was pretty happy with the card and installed everything I needed via the DVI port and my LCD monitor but once I tried getting audio & picture via HDMI to my TV, I realised the damn thing doesn't have an HDMI port but a Displayport connector ... Grrr!!
My question is does anyone have experience in converting Displayport signal to HDMI ??? I've noticed that converters are available but from what I gather after googling my ass off yesterday is that these converters usually don't carry audio, or rather most manufacturers neglect to offer this optional feature (which makes the card pretty damn useless in my opinion and it really boggles my mind as to why they manufactured the stupid thing in this configuration in the first place?)
Any advise would be greatly appreciated! (except for returning the damn thing and getting something with HDMI output?
