A few years ago I bought a Logitech S510 keyboard/mouse/remote combo. The remote worked 95% with xbmc on windows vista - the up and down scroller didn't work though. So after 5min of searching I found a simple script to fix it.

I am 100% happy with it. It operates absolutely everything in xbmc after assigning custom commands using the logitech software. The receiver is also incredibly sensitive. It doesn't require line of sight and can control xbmc from about 20metres away.

I have speakers on my patio so sat in the pool over the weekend changing music from my lylo all the way to my living room. Obviously I can't comment on it working in openelec but as a windows user I'm extremely happy with how it works. If you can still get your hands on one I'd recommend it...

Hijacks old thread.

I have some issues with the Android / iOS remotes for XBMC.

I downloaded the Official XBMC remotes as well as Constellation. It worked the first time around without any issues, but now it works only once every days/tries/restarts. I have deactivated all firewalls, virus protections and VPNs without any success in pinpointing the issue. Nothing changed regarding my software/Hardware setup. I constantly get the 'No hosts nearby' errors. Adding the host manually also does not work.

My Setup:
HP Microserver running Windows 7
Latest XBMC
iPad 3
Sony Xperia Z1
Netgear Router

Any suggestions ?

so after it has been working, are you saying that it will suddenly stop?

or does it fail to work again after a reboot?

After a reboot it stops working. Then It doesn't work for days. Then randomly it starts working again without me changing anything or doing something different.

All the settings are as per the instructions of the apps and the wiki.
