HTPC: What to get?

k so now I would like to know: on what TV have you guys run your HTPC's and was it with the integrated gfx or with a separate card?

also, what would a HTPC be running, besides the mentioned Ubuntu?

It's a tossup between running XBMC or MCE (Media Center Edition) on either Windows 7 Premium or Ultimate, or else running XBMC, on Ubuntu.

In my searching for answers (!) about hardware, I've encountered the following option:

ZOTAC GeForce 9300-ITX-WiFi (the DDR3 version)
Intel E5700 3.0GHz LGA775
2x2Gb DDR3-1333
CFi A2059 mini-ITX case with 300W PSU

The remaining challenge is to ensure that it's cool and quiet. I can't find any reports about the 300W PSU in the case, so I'm assuming it has a small whining fan. I'd probably bring in a 90W PicoPSU for about R600. Then replace the CPU cooler with a Thermalright Si-128 or something fanless if possible. Pricewise this compares well against the all-in-one AMD E-350 'Brazos' type of build... so I'm still confused about the performance side, and compatibility. I'd expect Ubuntu to work better with an older chipset

I see every1 going for 4Gig memory.

what exactly would that enable you to do that 2Gig might battle with?

ah, lol

was thinking maybe it helped with multiple sources trying to watch from it

I have 2x 1Gig and so far it hasn't been in dire need of another 2Gig
