stupid me clicked on it and took me to a web page that says i signe up for some serivice that costs R20/ 5 days. It said to stop it i must sms stop. to some number. I assumed it was one of those illegal unsolicited emails scams. i sms the stop. sHIiiit i hope i didnt screw this up :cry:

I hope i havent been charged. Will fone vodacom in the morning and complain like hell.

i hate poeple who do this, they should all just die! :mad:

did anyone else ever receive something like this?
 
Got the same MMS and I'm on MTN, just deleted it. Who's your SP?
 
vodacrap. I got an sms back saying that i wasn't subscribed. so we will see what happens next.
 
I received one of these messages yesterday with the w03.v762.net link which had spam written all over it's face, so I checked it out and sure enough this one circulates globally as a premium rate sms scam, hope they don't catch too many people here in SA.
 
Some of these guys just run through all combinations of phone numbers possible, others buy the numbers from "credible" South African companies.

Got the same today on a 082 number from an 082 number but the number contains more than the usual number of digits.


I'd like to open the link to look at it, but not from my phone. Is it possible to browse the site and make my browser appear like I'm browsing from my phone?
 
Get them often, wouldnt be silly enough to clink on a link unless I was 100% sure I was expecting it.
 
To be honest I think you have definitely been charged, the whole purpose would be to fool people into thinking visiting a link can initiate a subscription service. I would also be skeptical as to the service being stopped as to rather being started.
