There are 3, 6 and 9 GB options without having to use separate usernames and passwords. Also the bandwidth doesn't go through Saix and the contention ratios are better. It uses a standard Telkom ADSL line, just change your username and password. Sometime in January there will be an uncapped option and the company is working on a static ip feature aswell.

Oh, and it is not a Proxy or VPN solution... True Uncapped ADSL :) . Get rid off Telkom and sign up...

If they are not using Saix, then why are they selling bandwidth is exactly the same increments?

Who are they using?
 
What make you think that IS has better BW than SAIX?

Just wait until mweb has finished it's move to is ;)
 
Well IS are pretty good at managing their bandwidth, their dial-up infrastructure is testimant to that... Infact the Mweb move should be a good thing :)

I would guess that 'truly uncapped' would actually be another option you can purchase instead of 3,6 or 9 gigabyte accounts.
 
Mmmm ... Interested. Is there any way to test? I wouldn't mind signing up for a month if that's a possibility. Also, it says nothing about shaping? Cost?
 
I got the impression from the initial post that the 3-6-9 gig option is available <b>now</b>, and uncapped only from 15 Jan. If they have a non-SAIX based offer now already, I'd like to try it out.
 
You know you have been on the internet way too long when you recognise dial up numbers. Anyway, ew seems to have the same dial up numbers as Tiscali. Leads me to believe they might be buying the bandwidth from them? And as a result, IS.

and it says business adsl on the description, so.. [:(!] expect insane pricing

Pricing should be available in the next couple of weeks for the 3, 6 and 9 GB options along with technical info about speed after cap, shaping and ping times will follow shortly.

The prices won't be bad for Uncapped and it is not just targeted for businesses either. Businesses will have the choice of class of services which should include guarentees on international bandwidthand etc...

Signup to the email list to be notified when it is available... should be in the next couple of weeks... You should be able to get a one month account... Maybe there should be a conversion from Telkom incentive, like a free month :)

Tiscali get their bandwidth from Saix but they resell IS dial-ups... They don't have their own international links. EW also resells IS dial-ups... The bandwidth for ADSL goes through IS and not Tiscali...

What would make people change from Telkom ADSL? Price, speed, support or value added services? Maybe just to avoid supporting a monopoly?

Who on earth uses OS X as a server platform? that already makes me wonder what the hell they are up to. Not that there is anything wrong with OS X per se, just that they may as well use FreeBSD and not pay licensing fees and use cheaper hardware.
