Huawei B315 APN Profile

Hey guys,

We have a few B315's at our clients and every now and then the routers loose the APN setting and reverts back
to the default profile. Is there some way we can lock it to a certain profile?

Forgotten to save the profile you created as a default profile, I guess?

The created profile is saved as default but for some reason the profile changes back to a default Vodacom or MTN
profile. I'm thinking it might be a power related condition or the device is left off for some time and looses it's setting.

Thought i'd ask for a 2nd opinion.

Reset router to defaults and start over. Change default profile and save, then restart router from the menu. I remember that some firmware version prompted me to restart, so it must be important.

I have seen this issue before. Happened to a B315 that I bought from Cell C. My parents use it with the Afrihost APN. It doesn't happen very often though.

We have a number of these out in the field and are experiencing the same issue. Save the config, power cycle the device as much as we like, it stays and then one day the profile and only the profile goes back to default. FusionSparc, have you been able to fix your issue?

Could it be something like a BiOs battery that's depleted? I'm not a techie btw

I think it may happen if you have roaming enabled and router has switched to the roaming tower for a moment. It is a place where your active profile is not valid anymore. It is a firmware bug, as it should have network ID entry in the profile, but it doesn't. It is why I assume that problem will go away if you disable data roaming.
