Look for the flashing software. Also try the 30sec reset procedure 30/30/30.So am I right in saying that it's bricked, and no hope of getting fixed?

Got it off fb marketplace. I guess I got scammed.Try contacting Huawei support and see if they can offer any assistance, maybe either a repair or replacement at a cost.

Other than that their may be some flashing software and the original router firmware available that you would have to search for. The router would have to be placed into flashing mode before using the flashing software. Fair warning: This could end being a nothing more than a rabbit hole as the device may locked at various levels.
