Huawei B618 on and off

Can anyone help? I have a new Huawei B618 router. It worked for a few weeks now all 3 of the top green lights go off and I get disconnected for a few minutes then re-connected.

I thought it was Cell C's fault as I have a 200Gig data contract with them. So I got another contract from MNT for the same amount as I was told Cell C were having problems in this area. However, exactly the same is happening with the MTN data sim. On and off.

Is my router faulty? I have tried everything I know from re-booting to re-setting. Nothing helps. My Fingbox also goes off when not connected. It's very frustrating. The signal in this area is very strong as can be born out by my cell phone's (MTN & Cell C)
signal strength. I have an expensive antenna rigged up. Nothing helps. I have to connect now using my cell c phone as a hot spot but obviously no wi fi in the rest of the house. Any suggestions would be of great help.

I'm not familiar with this specific Huawei router (I have an older model) but perhaps try to force it to 3G or 4G to see if it may be that the problem occurs when automatically switching...

That router, the B618 can be temperamental.

Thank you very much for replying. I found out what the problem was. The external antenna. I unplugged it and am now getting 40 to 50Mbps which for here is incredible. I have someone who promised to come from MTN to help me position the antenna correctly. It was obviously not right!!!

If the signal strength is as good as you say it is, then why bother with the external antenna. Then it makes sense, the RF input is overloaded hence going on and off.
