Hi Guys,
I'm sure someone out there has solved this setup issue on the Huawei b683 to add a USB printer.
See some mention of firmware updates, but have found nothing useful to date.
Very generic question. What setup issue? On the router or client? What printer?
I tried to connect HP MFP Officejet (all-in-one), it doesn't even turn USB light on.
You might be more luck with simple printer, not MFP.
Yes, sorry about the generic question. I'm failing to setup an HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2645 (All-in-One) on the USB port of my Huawei b683, so I'm guessing the issue is with the printer? Are there any other way to get the printer connected to the router so as to allow wifi printing?
All-in-One again! Firstly you must check (as pointed above) whether B683 USB light comes on when connecting printer. If doesn't, forget it.
If the light comes on, I would first connect printer to PC and install drivers locally. It is easier to do that and also gives assurance that printer works correctly. Having drivers installed, Windows will later easier find printer on the network. You will have to enable and configure Samba on the router. This is all assumed that USB light comes on.
