Perhaps somebody can help me quickly.

Tested my Huawei B970b router at home last night with a new Cell C SIM and also with Vodacom SIM. Worked flawlessly with both.

Now I am at Orlando Stadium and the router is not picking up a Network for both SIMS.

There is definitely signal because both SIMS connect perfectly via my E220 modem. (Currently posting this from E220 connection on Cell C 3G)

Our photographer is dependent on me getting the Wi-Fi router working.

Thanks guys

Check your internal/external antenna switch by the ports on the back.

Okay I give up.

Back home now and it still does not pick up any network.

I did a Restore Factory Settings and even Reset it via the hardware button. Still nothing!

Green "Mode Light" just keeps double flashing which means it is searching for a network.

I'm going to upgrade the Firmware now but if anybody has an idea what could be wrong, please help.

Where did the unit come from? If you have only recently obtained it could have become blacklisted...

The SIM holder on these devices can also be a problem much like the Huawei E220 can be.

I won it on MyBroadband a year or two ago. Only started using it last night. Unless rpm gave away stolen merchandise I can not see that as the problem :p

It does say the SIM is ready in the browser interface.

Something loose inside?

I've thought about that but cannot see how that could have happened. Was transported inside the box and bubble wrap to the stadium with no rough handling or anything.

And still strange that it worked perfectly last night but not when I started it up again.

Donate router to MyBB user who will use it and buy a new one. I think router is complaining it hasn't been used for so long. It will work certainly when you handle it over...
Dropbox for broken equipment is at Knoppieslaaghte, near Diepsloot. :)

When did they stop Network locking modems and phones?

Only other explanation I can think of is that the router is Network locked. (It is a MTN branded router).

But why would it have worked the first time with both the Cell C and Vodacom SIMS?

All networks stopped locking in 2005 all be it, some stuff crept through until mid-2005.

Vodafone network lock their Vodabloat software but MDMA or other dashboards get around this issue.

It could have reverted to MTN settings which a quick look around the web interface should resolve...

Router can be locked due to error in database of stolen phones. Call MTN and check status, giving them serial number.
There is other possible cause, but it require opening router.

How would I use MDMA with this router? Can this router go Full Bridge mode like an ADSL router?

Settings are not the problem. I have checked them a hundred times and they definitely do not revert back to the factory settings.

I will phone MTN later this afternoon or tomorrow.

If I do not come right, can you guide me through the process of opening it up?

Thanks

You see, this router can be cursed by jealous fellow MyBB user, and you have no protection, as you didn't use it. Give it away... :(

Have confirmed with MTN that it is not blacklisted.

Tried to upgrade the firmware tonight but not even that is possible. Keep getting this error with the update program:
