Hi there!

Recently I went through my father's stuff, and I came across a Huawei E220 HSDPA USB modem. It has a Mobily logo on the front, which is the cell service provider for Saudi Arabia (kinda like our Vodacom or MTN). He was stationed in Saudi Arabia for a year which is why he has it.

The thing still boots up, and it still has its Saudi sim card, but I haven't tried to open it's settings yet because I am clueless. I can't find any manuals here, and I don't know what to look for online. Wikipedia said that service providers are known for installing their own software onto these modems, and the list included Mobily and Vodacom (which is my provider of choice).

So, is it possible to use this modem still? And would I need to download some software to use it here in SA? I tried searching software guides and found millions of driver sites. I'm not too knowledgeble on software issues, and I don't want to accidentally brick this thing. Also, how does it actually work?

I will attach a picture of how the modem looks, only mine has the Mobily logo

Many thanks!
